  • Patent number: 8331555
Abstract: An MD5 processing apparatus is a hardware-implemented MD5 process in a programmable device such as an FPGA or the like. The programmable device is programmed to include four processing engines, each of which performs a single MD5 stage having four MD5 operations performed by the MD5 stage. Each stage begins with four 32-bit values in an A register, a B register; a C register; and a D register. These values are processed using four sub-stages in the MD5 stage using a number of adders along with fixed nonlinear function processing units and fixed 32-bit-shift units. The fixed nonlinear function processing units in a given stage implement only the nonlinear function needed for the MD5 round being performed by the stage. Likewise, each fixed 32-bit-shift unit uses direct bit routing to effect bit shifts taking advantage of the cyclic nature of shifts required by the MD5 hashing algorithm.

  • Patent number: 8330680
Abstract: A light-emitting display device includes a pixel circuit that transmits a data signal using switches responding to control signals. The pixel circuit of the light-emitting display device includes first and second switching transistors serially coupled to a data line. A capacitor is charged with charges in response to a data signal from the data line through the first and second switching transistors. A driving transistor outputs a current corresponding to the charges in the capacitor. A light-emitting diode emits light corresponding to the current. One of the first and second switching transistors is turned on in response to a select signal from a first scan line and the other one is turned on in response to a control signal for controlling an operation of a second pixel circuit.

  • Patent number: 8324505
Abstract: The present invention relates to flex cables, and more particularly to a temperature tolerant cover layer construction for a flex cable. In one embodiment, a flex cable designed to be bent to a particular curved shape includes one or more slits formed in the inner cover layer, to reduce the amount of material in the cover layer on the inside radius of the curve. By reducing the amount of cover layer material on the inside of the curve, the slits reduce the compressive stress in the cover layer. The slits are formed prior to laminating the flex cable so that upon lamination the flexible filler material below the cover layer fills the slits, providing a compliant, protective layer that bends into the desired curve and protects the active components inside the cable. The slits reduce the compressive stress along the inside cover layer and thereby prevent the cover layer from separating from the rest of the cable when the flex cable is subjected to high temperature conditions.

  • Patent number: 8323011
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a rotor to be used in a dual-rotor lobe pump system for pumping a material at a periodic rate is provided. The method includes selecting a desired periodic flow rate for the material, selecting a number of lobes for the rotor, and selecting either a thickness of the rotor or a spacing between the dual-rotors' axes of rotation in the lobe pump. The method also includes determining the profile for the rotor based on the desired periodic flow rate, so that when the rotor is operated within the dual-rotor lobe pump system, the material can be pumped at substantially the desired periodic flow rate. In another embodiment of the invention, a lobe pump rotor profile is formed by the method described above.
