  • Patent number: 8286667
Abstract: A water transmission tubing for controlling the flow of water under pressure comprises a tubular inner liner of generally uniform cross-sectional configuration continuous with the length of the tubing and having an anti-bacterial agent for preventing the growth of bacteria on the inside wall of the tube. The inner liner contains a dispersed slip additive that forms a low friction surface inside the tubing for preventing adherence of slime to the inside of the tubing. The slip additive can comprise a fluoroelastomer, a fluoropolymer, a silicone resinous material, or mixtures thereof. The liner can be a separate inner layer of a multi-layer dripline, a monolayer form of the dripline or the inside of a drip irrigation emitter. The invention is particularly useful in subsurface treatment of wastewater.

  • Patent number: 8289240
Abstract: A light emitting display for compensating for the threshold voltage of transistor or mobility and fully charging a data line. A transistor and first through third switches are formed on a pixel circuit of an organic EL display. The transistor supplies a driving current for emitting an organic EL element (OLED). The first switch diode-connects the transistor. A first storage unit stores a first voltage corresponding to a threshold voltage of the transistor. A second switch transmits a data current in response to a select signal. A second storage unit stores a second voltage corresponding to the data current. A third switch transmits the driving current to the OLED. A third voltage determined by coupling of the first and second storage units is applied to a transistor to supply the driving current to the OLED.

  • Patent number: 8283070
Abstract: An anode active material and a lithium battery employing the same are provided. In one embodiment of the anode active material, a —(CH2CH2O)— repeating unit is bonded to the surface of metal particles that contain metals that can be alloyed with lithium. The repeating unit prevents reactions between the metal particles and the electrolyte solution. Also, due to its elasticity, the repeating unit absorbs part of the volume expansion of the metal particles. The repeating unit also prevents the metal particles from condensing, thereby enhancing dispersion properties. Accordingly, the inventive anode active material has high capacity and excellent capacity retention during repeated charging and discharging, thereby providing a lithium battery with a long cycle life.
