Abstract: A camera system and a method for zooming the camera system is disclosed. The method generally includes the steps of (A) generating an electronic image by sensing an optical image received by the camera, the sensing including electronic cropping to a window size to establish an initial resolution for the electronic image, (B) generating a final image by decimating the electronic image by a decimation factor to a final resolution smaller than the initial resolution and (C) changing a zoom factor for the final image by adjusting both of the decimation factor and the window size.

Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for generating extracted timing model files, such as macro library files, are disclosed. A user interface or data template is provided to an engineer that allows for the population of data within particular fields related to timing characteristics of an IP block, cell or core. Various types of data and fields may be provided into the user interface or data template. The location of relevant files, such as a cell or core netlist, may be provided within the template. Additionally, one or more modes may be selected by the user to define the manner in which the ETM file(s) are to be generated. An ETM file is automatically generated using the information provided in the data template.

Abstract: A user-based monitoring system includes a remote user-based subsystem with at least one display and at least two microprocessor-based units in communication with each other. The microprocessor-based units are selected from a data management unit, a personal computer, a handheld device or a user monitoring device. The subsystem is configured to facilitate collection of user-related data. The system also has at least one central server remotely located from and configured for two-way communication with the user-based subsystem so that it can receive and deliver signal communications to and from the user-based subsystem. The system also has at least one authorized user computer remotely located from, and configured for two-way signal communication with, the central server to receive user-related data collected by a remote user-based subsystem and allow an authorized user to communicate with the central server. The system is suited, amongst others, for monitoring remotely the health of a system user.
Abstract: A method for image decoding is disclosed. The method generally includes the steps of (A) receiving from a medium (1) an encoded signal and (2) transform data comprising at least one of (i) encoding statistics embedded in the encoded signal, (ii) encoding information and (iii) pre-processing information, wherein (a) the encoding statistics are created by an encoder in encoding an intermediate input signal to create the encoded signal, (b) the encoding information is producible by the encoder in the encoding and (c) the pre-processing information is producible by a pre-processor in converting an image input signal into the intermediate input signal, (B) generating an intermediate output signal by decoding the encoded signal and (C) generating an image output signal by processing the intermediate output signal in response to the transform data.
Abstract: An apparatus includes an antenna (e.g., a monopole), a first load, and a second load. The antenna, which extends substantially along an axis, has a first end and a second end. The first load is coupled to the antenna at the first end, while the second load is coupled to the antenna between the first end and the second end. Both the first and second loads are symmetrical with reference to the axis. Abstract: A combined matching and harmonic rejection circuit with increased harmonic rejection provided by a split resonance for one or more of the capacitive or inductive elements of the circuit. At a fundamental frequency, the circuit comprises an inductive series arm with capacitive shunt arms. The capacitance of a shunt arm may be provided by two or more parallel paths, each having a capacitor and an inductor in series so that, in addition to providing the effective capacitance necessary for impedance matching at the fundamental frequency, two separate harmonics represented by the series resonances of the parallel paths are rejected. In this manner, an extra null in the circuit's stop-band may be achieved using the same number of shunt elements necessary to achieve impedance matching at the fundamental frequency.

Abstract: A method for automatically detecting a plurality of parameters for a NAND-Flash memory. A first step of the method may include generating a plurality of address cycles for the NAND-Flash memory. A second step may set an address number parameter of the parameters based on (i) a first number of the address cycles generated and (ii) a status signal generated by the NAND-Flash memory responsive to the address cycles. A third step generally includes generating at least one read cycle for the NAND-Flash memory after determining the address number parameter. Abstract: A system and method are provided for use in an electronic device configured to process data to perform a method of generating a fixed point approximation of a number x by first locating the most significant bit of a given number, then retrieving predetermined values from electronic data storage, where the first value is based on a first index value generated from the most significant bit and contains fixed-point representation located in a table in storage. Then, output values are generated from look-up tables that correspond to index values generated from a number of bits that immediately following the most significant bit. Finally, the final mathematic result is computed using fixed-point arithmetic logic to generate a fixed point approximation.

The photo detector circuit may be configured to generate an RF signal in response to a laser spot on a surface of an optical disc.
