Abstract: A method and apparatus for the prevention of migration of hazardous particulate matter from a negative pressure environment established within a building in order to collect and dispose of the hazardous particulate matter, the apparatus and method for the prevention of migration of a hazardous particulate matter from the area being cleaned including an enclosed passageway positioned parallel of the temporary wall means established so as to define the area to be cleaned, the enclosed passageway being continuously evacuated so as to establish a negative pressure in the enclosed passageway which is greater than the negative pressure in the area being cleaned in order to ensure any hazardous particulate matter escaping from the area being cleaned is captured in the enclosed passageway and removed before migrating to other areas of the building in which normal activities are in progress.
Abstract: A latch extender for a pivotal window assembly of a vehicle in which the pivotal window assembly includes a latch member for engaging the locking mechanism of the door of the vehicle, the latch extender being rigidly affixed to the latch member of the pivotal window assembly, the latch extender having a hasp substantially identical to the latch member of the pivotal window assembly, the hasp of the latch extender engaging the locking mechanism of the door assembly so as to secure the pivotal window assembly in a locked, yet opened position to permit cross ventilation within the vehicle while operating.
Abstract: A cutting assembly for severing a chain of linked articles joined together by joining segments, the linked articles and joining segments being comprised of a semi-rigid casing, for example, collagen, the cutting assembly having a pair of knives positioned perpendicular to the path of movement of the linked articles, the distance between the knives adjustable to accommodate joining segments of differing lengths, the knives being activated upon registration of the joining segments between the knives to sever the joining segments from adjacent linked articles.
Abstract: An improved rotary valve for a spherical rotary valve engine in which the intake spherical valve and the exhaust spherical valve have an aperture on the spherical periphery for communication with the inlet port and exhaust port of the cylinder, respectively, the aperture having longitudinal parallel edges spaced apart a distance equivalent to the diameter of the inlet port or the exhaust port of the cylinder head, the lateral ends of the aperture on the spherical periphery of the intake and exhaust valve being curvalinear and of a semi-circular design, the semi-circular design conforming to the circumference of the inlet port and outlet port of the engine cylinder so as to provide for faster opening and faster closing of the intake port and exhaust port, respectively, and also providing a larger cross-sectional area more quickly in the opening phase and a reduction in the cross-sectional are a more quickly in the closing phase of the valve.
