The rails are also engaged with extension members (88 and 90) that have respective feet (92 and 94). Pins (112 and 114) secure extension member (88 and 50) in the rails (48 and 50).
Abstract: An improved filter is provided for lowering levels of contaminants in domestic drinking water. The filter contains an oxidized activated carbon and at least one other type of adsorbent to remove cationic species and at least one other contaminant. The filter further achieves an efficient use of the adsorbents by including an envelope containing part or all of the adsorbents, which envelope minimizes the potential for flow by-pass.

Abstract: A fluid pump includes a pump housing with a pump cavity in which a first and second gear are positioned for pumping fluid. The first gear is operably connected to a motor for rotation and the second gear is rotatably mounted to a shaft for geared rotation with the first gear. Fluid inlet and outlet ports are located in communication with the pump cavity and adapted respectively for connection with a source of fluid and a discharge means. A bypass valve is positioned between the inlet and outlet ports to selectively permit fluid pumped between the inlet and outlet ports to pass through it when the outlet port is flow restricted. The bypass valve is normally closed to fluid pumped by said first and second gears to flow from said inlet port to said outlet port, but is opened to permit flow to cavitate when not desired to pump.
Abstract: A golf bag (10) that includes a case (12) and a base (18) at the closed end thereof. A wheel and axle assembly (42) is detachably secured to a flexible clamp (20) that is mounted to the base (18). A handle (62) includes a shaft (66) that is detachably secured to a handle bracket (64) that is fastened to case (12) so that the golf bag can be pulled by the handle (62) while being supported by the wheel and axle assembly (42). A stand (100) is attached to case (12) at location that is opposite to that of handle bracket (64) so that golf bag (10) can be stood vertically in a stable position.
Abstract: The present invention provides a unique combination of herbal ingredients designed to overcome natural inhibitors of human sexual response and allow for improved response and psychological effects. The composition is comprised of extracts taken from crataegus monogyna berry, turnera diffusa, pfaffia paniculata, ginkgo biloba, pygeum africanum, and ginsenosides extract, that are combined with L-arginine, L-glutamic acid and L-theanine in amounts effective to produce desired results.
Abstract: A rotary valve for directing fluid streams which has a circular stationary head having at least one and desirably multiple primary ports for connection with fluid streams at least one secondary port. The stationary head includes a number of first circular concentric channels formed therein and at least one second concentric channel. The first and second channels are associated with the primary and secondary ports, respectively. A rotatable head is provided having radial chambers, each having a first and second port for connection between a first channel and a secondary port. The rotatable head rotates against the stationary head and channels in a fluid sealed manner. An indexable drive rotates the rotatable head to interconnect predetermined primary channels and secondary ports. The timing of rotation can be continuous or intermittent depending upon the associated process of the fluid streams.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for the detection of changes in concentrations or amounts of components of a fluid mixture by measuring changes in an electrical or a mechanical property of a sensing element when the sensing element is exposed to the fluid mixture. The preferred property of the sensing element to be measured is its electrical resistance which changes when the sensing element adsorbs at least one component of the fluid mixture.

Abstract: A structure for reinforcing doorjambs wherein first and second reinforcement plates (32 and 42) are located between the doorjamb (16) and the structure frame (34). Reinforcement plates (32 and 42) are arranged in overlapping fashion and are provided with respective bolt holes (26 and 48) that are in registry with a bolt hole (26) of the doorjamb (16). The overlapped reinforcement plate structure provides increased strength and greater flexibility for ease of installation.
Abstract: The present invention provides a software system used for transmission of information between multiple users interacting on a distributed computer network such as the Internet. The system comprises a central server computer connected to a plurality of client computers by means of a communication network such as the Internet. The server authoritatively models the state of the virtual environment in which the users interact. To eliminate latency each client predictively models the state of the virtual environment before the client is made aware by the server of commands issued by other users. Each command issued by a user is forwarded to the server. The client does not wait for the server to send back a response. Instead the client updates its own predictive model of the virtual environment to reflect the effects of the command it sent to the server. It displays these effects immediately thereby eliminating the latency in transmission between server and client.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an electronic circuit for measuring small amounts of charge or small electrical currents. One embodiment of the present invention provides an electronic circuit for measuring current or charge that can be used with a variety of sensing media (including high impedance sensing media) that produce a signal by either charge or current production or induction in response to physical phenomena occurring within the sensing media. In another embodiment, the voltage level (bias) of either the sensing or reference electrode can be switched relative to the other upon receipt of a triggering pulse. This changes the polarity of the electric field to cause charge of the opposite polarity to be driven to the sensing electrode, thereby eliminating the need to electrically connect a discharge path to the sensing electrode to clear the charge accumulated at the sensing electrode.

Abstract: A turndown pad having a body (10) with panels (102, 104, and 106) that are received in respective openings (82, 84 and 86) of body (10) and also having covers (118 and 120) that are received in openings (88 and 90) of body (10). Panels (102, 104, and 106) are selected from corresponding families of panels with each family of panels defined by a common profile shape and size. The different members of each family of panels (102, 104 and 106) have selected arrangements of holes (110, 112, and 114) respectively so that different combinations of panels provide different combinations of holes (110, 112, and 114).
Abstract: The present invention generally provides a threaded tamper-evident closure having an annular hook-shaped flange extending radially inward from the inner surface of the tamper-evident band attached to the bottom edge of the closure body. The hook-shaped flange can be continuous or segmented and forms an upwardly angled surface for engaging the sealing flange on the bottle neck. A plurality of elevated areas extend upwardly from the tamper-evident band in spaced relation to the bottom edge of the closure body. The frangible elements connecting the tamper evident band to the lower edge of the closure depending annular flange may be configured to extend from these elevated areas as well as the non-elevated areas of the tamper-evident band. Pairs of cooperating ratchets may be used in lieu of or in combination with the elevated bridge areas to reduce the stress placed upon frangible elements and/or during cap application.
