Abstract: A mill comprises a casing having an opening for supply of material to be milled and a rotor rotatably supported in the casing and provided with cutting members (3) for disintegrating action on the material. The cutting members (3) are arranged in a plurality of sets (4a-d) distributed about the periphery of the rotor, and having an axial extent (arrow 33). At least two of the sets (4) have their cutting members (3) mutually displaced in axial direction.
Abstract: This impact dampening system for a vending machine chute includes a resilient sheet disposed above a fixed support and a cushioning arrangement disposed between the resilient sheet and the fixed support. In one embodiment, a sheet metal chute provides the fixed support and a sheet plastic chute having a similar configuration to the sheet metal chute provides the resilient sheet, and foam pads between the two chutes providing the cushioning arrangement for containers received by the plastic sheet. In another embodiment, a sheet plastic chute only is used which is suspended by hangers or attached by brackets to the vending machine and may be provided with a diverter to direct containers away from direct travel to the vending machine access port.
Abstract: A hip joint prosthesis including a stem assembly attached to the femur and having a generally spherical head and a cup assembly having an outer casing received within the hip socket. The cup assembly outer casing includes threadedly attached upper and lower portions to encapsulate the lining and the lining includes an upper portion having a recess receiving the head and a split lower portion seating the head. The cup assembly also includes an interior spring assembly providing shock absorption between the head and the casing. The stem assembly includes an elongate stem and a cooperating shield attached to the stem, the stem being independently movable following insertion of the stem and shield into the femur.
Abstract: This solid bowl feeder and equipment tray assembly includes a bowl having an outer wall providing a seating rim and an inner wall defining a bowl, and an equipment tray having an outer wall providing an upper end attachable to the underside of the bowl. The bowl includes optional spray assembly mounting locations and the tray is adapted to receive various arrangements of the control equipment. The tray also includes a PC board cooperating with an accessible switch for selecting the duration of the spray.
Abstract: A water shut-off system incorporates a water shut-off valve utilizing a pair of adjacently disposed electrodes, a transmitter and a receiving means. The water shut-off valve is in the form of a ball valve. A timing logic causes current to flow to a valve driving motor as electric pulses.

Abstract: This oil level control device is for a refrigeration system, the control device being attached between the compressor and the oil supply. The control device includes a housing having an inlet communicating with the oil supply and an outlet communicating with a compressor sump; and a solenoid valve controlling flow from the oil supply into the compressor sump. A sensing chamber having a fixed probe providing a proximity detection system detects the oil level in the sump and responds to a change in the complex permittivity of the oil as the oil level rises and falls to generate a signal that controls the supply of oil to maintain the oil level in the compressor. Circuitry is provided having an input connected to the output of the sensor and an output connected to the solenoid valve.

Abstract: This bill validator (10) includes a bill inlet area (30) defined by opposed upper and lower surfaces (24, 26) and having a magnetic read head (50). A pressure device (60) is provided below the magnetic read head (50) and urges a bill B received by the inlet (30) toward engagement with the read head to press the bill into engagement with the read head and assist in moving the bill in the direction of travel of the transport system (21).
Abstract: In offset presses in which the printing cylinder is provided with a tensioning spindle or reel rod the printing plate usually has a hooked edge which is inserted in a gap in the printing cylinder. The printing plate is then wrapped around the plate cylinder for insertion in the spindle within the plate cylinder. The tensioning spindle carries a slot for receiving an end of the printing plate. After insertion of the plate end in this receiving slot partial rotation of the spindle tightens the printing plate. A substantial amount of skill is required to fix a printing plate on a printing cylinder. It is not easy to align the gap in the printing cylinder with the slot in the tensioning spindle. Two hands are usually required. Herein the tensioning spindle end shaft carries a pinion capable of moving a rack associated with it when the tensioning spindle is partially rotated. A spring is installed to oppose the rack movement.
Abstract: Telescopic stands for articles such as microphones used by entertainers, hospital intravenous packets and cameras are widely used. Some telescoping microphone and hospital intravenous stands require many turns of a ring in order to hold the microphone, for instance, in place. An entertainer needs to be able to almost instantly adjust the height of his microphone. The stand herein includes a height adjusting means which operates more quickly. It includes telescopically related outer and inner members, and also means for readily locking the upper inner member within the lower outer member.
