  • Patent number: 7283799
Abstract: Substantial improvements in frequency reuse in microwave communications systems is achieved by canceling co-channel interference and transmitter leakage. Interferometric beam-narrowing reduces beamwidth without reducing peak magnitude of the beam pattern. Frequency-dependent beam-shaping compensates for frequency-dependent distortions of the beam pattern thereby improving bandwidth. A spatial demultiplexing technique utilizes spatial gain distributions of received signals to separate signals, even from co-located transmit sources, and uses microwave lensing to enhance received spatial gain distributions. Predetermined cross-polarization interference is used to separate differently-polarized receive signals. A reference branch provides a cancellation signal to a receiver to cancel transmitter leakage signals. An error signal controls an impedance-compensation circuit that is responsive to changes in antenna impedance but not to receive signals.

  • Patent number: 7281118
Abstract: A method and system for messaging between processors and co-processors connected through a bus. The method permits a multi-thread system processor to request the services of a processor or co-processor located on the bus. Message control blocks are stored in a memory which identify the physical address of the target processor, as well as a memory location in the memory dedicated to the thread requesting the service. When the system processor requests service of a processor or co-processor, a DCR command is created pointing to the message control block. A message is built from information contained in the message control block or transferred to the processor or co-processor. The return address for the processor or co-processor message is concatenated with the thread number, so that the processor or co-processor can create a return message specifically identifying memory space dedicated to the requesting thread for storage of the response message.

  • Patent number: 7281042
Abstract: A computerized system and method for optimizing contents of a domain landing page for increased revenues for the domain name owner. A landing server tracks user interactions with the domain landing page and generates an optimized keyword data set for the domain name. The keyword data set is used for selecting the information to be displayed on the domain name page. According to one embodiment, the keywords are associated with advertiser payment values. When a link to an advertiser bidding on a particular keyword is selected, revenue generated due to the click is shared with the domain name owner. Selection of links on pop-under pages displayed with a landing page are also shared with the domain name owner. Semantic analysis of keywords and domain names allows the generation of a related keyword data set when there is insufficient number of relevant user interactions for generating the optimized keyword data set.

  • Patent number: 7280844
Abstract: A plurality of plane antennas 6-1 and 6-2 are embedded in the equipment body section 1, and every time occurrence of reception failure is detected by the internal electronics circuit, switching between the antennas used is established. Spatial diversity through selectively switching and using the plurality of plane antennas 6-1 and 6-2 is performed. Through this, even when reception sensitivity of one antenna in use deteriorates, good reception sensitivity can be gained through switching to another antenna. Thus, this can avoid inconvenience where calls are cut off.

  • Patent number: 7279302
Abstract: The invention concerns novel enzymes having an arogenate dehydrogenase activity, in particular arogenate dehydrogenase enzymes of plants, and the genes encoding said enzymes. The inventive arogenate dehydrogenase enzymes catalyze the last stage of the metabolic pathway of tyrosine biosynthesis, and constitute, as such, potential targets of herbicides. Hence the invention also concerns a method for identifying herbicide compounds targeting said enzymes, said herbicide compounds preventing tyrosine biosynthesis by being fixed on said enzymes. The invention further concerns transgenic plants tolerant to herbicide compounds targeting an enzyme involved in the tyrosine biosynthesis pathway, in particular an enzyme involved in the transformation of L-tyrosine prephenate, in particular an arogenate dehydrogenase enzyme.

  • Patent number: 7281120
Abstract: A method and apparatus for executing instructions in a pipeline processor. The method decreases the latency between an instruction cache and a pipeline processor when bubbles occur in the processing stream due to an execution of a branch correction, or when an interrupt changes the sequence of an instruction stream. The latency is reduced when a decode stage for detecting branch prediction and a related instruction queue location have invalid data representing a bubble in the processing stream. Instructions for execution are inserted in parallel into the decode stage and instruction queue, thereby reducing by one cycle time the length of the pipeline stage.

  • Patent number: 7281193
Abstract: A method for decoding multiword information comprises multiple steps. In step (a), a multiword information cluster, e.g., ECC, including high protective codewords, e.g., BIS, and low protective codewords, e.g., LDC, is provided. In step (b), the high and low protective codewords are stored into a first memory, e.g., DRAM. In step (c), the high protective codewords are decoded to generate high protective word erasure indicators showing whether decoding errors occur. In step (d), the high protective word erasure indicators are stored into a second memory, e.g., SRAM. In step (e), the low protective codewords are decoded. In the meanwhile, an erasure bit for a low protective codeword is marked by finding high protective codewords close to the low protective codeword in the multiword information cluster and looking up the high protective word erasure indicators of the high protective codewords close to the low protective codeword.

  • Patent number: 7276296
Abstract: A first metal is plated onto a substrate comprising a second metal by immersing the substrate into a bath comprising a compound of the first metal and an organic diluent. The second metal is more electropositive than the first metal. The organic diluent has a boiling point higher than a eutectic point in a phase diagram of the first and second metals. The bath is operated above the eutectic point but below the melting point of the second metal. For example, bismuth is immersion plated onto lead-free tin-based solder balls, and subsequently redistributed by fluxless reflow. Plated structures are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7277128
Abstract: An image-sensing device has pixel areas for outputting CCD signals of plural channels, and an adjusting portion for adjusting a level of each channel of the CCD signals outputted from the pixel area. A first channel CCD signal is provided from a pixel area 11a, a horizontal OB area 15a, a slide shift area 12a, and an HCCD 13a. A second channel CCD signal is provided from a pixel area 11b, a horizontal OB area 15b, a slide shift area 12b, and an HCCD 13b. Both of the first and second CCD signals are supplied to the adjusting portion with a reference signal added. The adjusting portion controls CCD signal of each channel by making the level of reference signal the same. The variation of the shift efficiency of electric charge in the border of pixel areas 11a and 11b for each channel, and in the slide shift areas 13a and 13b can be compensated.
