  • Patent number: 7271580
Abstract: A fault indicator for indicating the occurrence of a fault in an electrical conductor is programmable, such as in the field, by placing a magnet in proximity to the housing of the fault indicator. A data processor senses the changed state of a magnetic switch and, after a predetermined delay, initiates a programming routine to enable selection of one of a plurality of trip settings for the fault indicator. During programming, display LEDs flash once for programming of the first trip setting, twice for setting of the second trip setting, and so forth. Removal of the magnet from proximity to the fault indicator while at the desired trip setting will result in programming of the fault indicator to that trip setting.

  • Patent number: 7268387
Abstract: The present invention provides a semiconductor nonvolatile memory in which writing or erasing of storing information can be carried out at a high speed with low consumption power and in which dispersion width of a threshold voltage after writing or erasing is very narrow. A channel region of a memory transistor is divided into two regions of a writing control region and a writing region. The writing control region and the writing region have different threshold voltages. Writing is only carried out in the writing region. The writing control region turns off when the amount of electric charges accumulated in a floating gate reaches a specific value due to writing. The writing control region is used as a switch for a writing operation to automatically stop writing. Accordingly, an involatile memory comprising a memory transistor, in which writing can be carried out at a high speed with low consumption power and which is superior in controlling a threshold voltage after writing or erasing, can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 7262432
Abstract: A hydrogenation method that utilizes plasma directly exposes a crystalline semiconductor film to the plasma, and therefore involves the problem that the crystalline semiconductor film is damaged by the ions generated simultaneously in the plasma. • Patent number: 7262749
Abstract: In a conventional EL display device, a general video signal (analog signal voltage) is sampled to be outputted to a source signal line and then inputted to a gate electrode of a driving TFT provided in each pixel. The drain current of the TFT is controlled to control the current flowing into an EL element, thereby adjusting the luminance. However, accurate gray scales cannot be obtained unless the video signal is converted before it is sampled and inputted to the source signal line since the drain current of the driving TFT does not correspond to the gate voltage of the driving TFT linearly. The invention solve this problem by converting an inputted analog signal voltage into a current, converting the current into the gate-source voltage of a correction TFT that has the same polarity as a driving TFT, supplying the gate-source voltage as a source line signal to a source signal line, and applying the source line signal to a gate electrode of the driving TFT.

  • Patent number: 7253441
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to form a low-concentration impurity region with good accuracy in a top gate type TFT. Phosphorus is added to a semiconductor layer by using a pattern made of a conductive film as a mask to form an N-type impurity region in a self-alignment manner. A positive photoresist is applied to a substrate so as to cover the pattern and then is exposed to light applied to the back of the substrate and then is developed, whereby a photoresist 110 is formed. The pattern is etched by using the photoresist pattern as an etching mask to form a gate electrode. A channel forming region, a source region, a drain region, and low-concentration impurity regions, are formed in the semiconductor layer in a self-alignment manner by using the gate electrode as a doping mask.
