Patent number: 5226586Abstract: 1. Container, especially drinking cup, and process for producing it. 2.1. Drinking cups (20) in particular often have a cup body (21) made of plastic foam. The upper rim (25) of such drinking cups (20) makes drinking more difficult. 2.2. The drinking cup (20) according to the invention possesses a collar (26) attached onto the upper rim (25) of the cup body (21) and made of a compact plastic. This provides a mouth roll which makes drinking easier and which gives the drinking cup (20) according to the invention the properties of drinking cups formed completely from more extensive compact materials. 3. The invention relates, above all, to rotationally symmetrical drinking cups (20) which are used for the dispensing of drinks from automatic machines or as inserts for reusable drinking-cup holders.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1991Date of Patent: July 13, 1993Assignee: LIN TEC Verpackungstechnik GmbHInventor: Horst-Ditmar Grone

Patent number: 5173186Abstract: A coreless filter cartridge, and apparatus for adapting a filter housing to support such coreless filter cartridges. A coreless filter cartridge has an elongate array of filtering material which defines an interior cavity. The array is surrounded by a sheath of perforated paper. The ends of the array and sheath are embedded into polyurethane end-caps. The filter housing is adapted to accept coreless filter cartridges by adding a rigid, perforated standpipe that uses a bushing to fit over a housing fluid egress spud. The coreless filter cartridge is placed over the standpipe and secured in place by a retaining spider or by the housing cover, which exerts bias via a compression spring and compression cup. Gaskets on each end-cap prevent fluid by-pass and a stand-off cup is located near the base of the standpipe to provide a surface against which the end-cap gasket can seat.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1991Date of Patent: December 22, 1992Assignee: Allied Filter Engineering, Inc.Inventors: Scott E. Patent number: 5169968Abstract: A process of separating materials is disclosed which comprises contacting a solid material with a fluid at an elevated pressure within a defined space, forming a fluid mixture of said fluid and a component of the solid material at the elevated pressure, separating the fluid mixture from the insoluble portion of the solid material at the elevated pressure and discharging the fluid mixture, as a mass, from a defined space, while simultaneously reducing the volume of the defined space at a rate sufficient to maintain the elevated pressure during the discharge step. Optionally, the insoluble portion of the solid material may be compacted during the separation step. The solid material may be selected from animal, vegetable, and mineral sources and the fluid may be selected from CO.sub.2 and other gases or liquids. Apparatus for carrying out the process is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1988Date of Patent: December 8, 1992Assignee: Vitamins, Inc.Inventor: Wayne K. Rice

Patent number: 5117177Abstract: A voltage reference generated for an integrated circuit which produces a source of reference voltage which is self-compensated for variations in operating voltage (V.sub.cc) or in transistor threshold voltages (V.sub.T). The circuit uses a voltage divider coupled between V.sub.cc and ground and has first and second FET transistors. A faced control circuit is coupled to control the conductivity of the first transistor, and the second control circuit is coupled to control the conductivity of the second transistor. The first control circuit produces a control voltage which varies as a function of variations in V.sub.cc, while the second control circuit also provides a control voltage wherein variations are a function of variations in V.sub.cc, but in an opposite direction. Hence, the second control voltage is configured so that variations in V.sub.cc cause the second transistor to compensate for changes in operation of the first transistor, so that the reference voltage remains substantially constant.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1991Date of Patent: May 26, 1992Assignees: Ramtron Corporation, NMB Semiconductor Co., Ltd.Inventor: S. Patent number: 5099970Abstract: A torque-limiting clutch brake having an inner collar which splines to a transmission gearbox input shaft and including a pair of depressions along its outer edge. A torque-limiting intermediate coupling detent member and spacer ring are disposed around the inner collar. Two resilient detents from the coupling member retainingly engage the depressions of the inner collar within a predetermined limit of torque. Two covers, each having a friction facing on their outer surfaces, house the inner collar, coupling member, and spacer ring, and positively engage the coupling member. An assembly clamp ring fits around the two housing covers and secures the assembly together. The inner collar, coupling member, spacer ring, housing covers, and assembly clamp ring each are made up of two separable semi-circular sections to facilitate removal and installation of the clutch brake without lowering and disassembling the vehicle transmission.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1991Date of Patent: March 31, 1992Assignee: Diebel Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Hugh R. Patent number: 5088249Abstract: A roof covering or wall covering for a building or the like comprising a supporting layer having open channels, preferably made of corrugated metal sheet. Encasing structures, filled with a fire-retarding substance, are located in the channels of the supporting layer. The fire-retarding substance is a thickened liquid. Since the liquid is thickened, it cannot escape or can escape only very slowly from leaky points in the supporting layer in the event of fire. This ensures an evaporation of the fire-retarding liquid to remove the thermoenergy produced during the fire.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 1989Date of Patent: February 18, 1992Assignee: Roland-Werke Dachbaustoffe und Bauchemie GmbH & Co.
