Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for image processing and an image processing apparatus which are capable of performing repetitive forming and erasing of high-contrast images at high speeds by forming high-density, uniform images and uniformly erasing images in a short period of time, and in addition, suppressing the degradation of the thermoreversible recording medium due to repetitive forming and erasing is possible.
Abstract: An electrophotographic photoconductor including a conductive support and a photosensitive layer, wherein the photosensitive layer contains a charge generation agent, a charge transport agent and a binder resin, and wherein the charge generation agent contains an asymmetric disazo pigment represented by General Formula (I), the charge transport agent contains a triphenylamine compound represented General Formula (IX), and the mass ratio of the charge transport agent to the binder resin is 0.3 to 2.0, where R1 and R2 each represent a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, alkoxy group, aryl group or heterocyclic group, provided that R1 and R2 are different, where R3 to R5 each represent hydrogen, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, which may have a substituent, an alkoxy group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, which may have a substituent, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms.
Abstract: The invention is to methods of gene silencing in arthropods using dsRNA. The method is include contacting the arthropod with, and/or directly feeding the arthropod, the dsRNA to the arthropods to deliver the dsRNA to arthropod tissues. It is envisaged that the methods of the invention will have use in determining the biological function of genes in arthropods. Methods of pest control of arthropods, and of protecting arthropods against parasites and predators are provided. Transgenic arthropods expressing dsRNA molecules are also provided by the present invention.

Abstract: A laminated structure includes a wettability variable layer formed on a substrate, including a material whose critical surface tension varies by receiving energy so that high and low surface energy regions are formed; a conductive layer formed in one of the high surface energy regions; and an insulating layer formed in such a manner as to cover the conductive layer, wherein another one of the high surface energy regions is formed in such a manner as to surround a periphery of a circuit formation region in which a plurality of the conductive layers are formed; and the insulating layer is formed in such a manner as to also cover the another one of the high surface energy regions so that an adhesive guard ring region is formed between the wettability variable layer and the insulating layer.
Abstract: An image transmitting apparatus transmits an image of a document in which an information disclosure level is set. A transmission operation to a specified destination is performed when an information disclosure level set in the specified destination is higher than the information disclosure level set in a document to be transmitted.
Abstract: A switching regulator is disclosed that includes a switching element; an inductor; a rectifier element; an error amplifier circuit portion; a PWM pulse generating circuit portion; a current sensing circuit portion; an output voltage decrease detecting circuit portion; a current pulse generating circuit portion; a phase detecting circuit portion; a VFM pulse generating circuit portion; and a switching control circuit portion configured to generate a control signal based on a PWM signal or a VFM signal and to switch a control status of the switching element from a PWM control to a VFM control in accordance with a third signal output from the phase detecting circuit portion, and to switch the control status from the VFM control to the PWM control in accordance with a second signal output from the output voltage decrease detecting circuit portion.
Abstract: An improved approach for managing and sending electronic data which allows one to access electronic data corresponding to a hardcopy document is provided. For example, when the hardcopy bearing a visible image is output, an identification image corresponding to identification data identifying the document is added to the visible image. The identification data can be recognized from the identification image, and used to retrieve various information in a database corresponding to the document.
Abstract: To provide an electrophotographic photoconductor including: a substrate; a charge generating layer; and a charge transporting layer, the charge generating layer and the charge transporting layer being disposed over the substrate, wherein the charge transporting layer contains a charge transporting material represented by General Formula (I) below and an additive represented by General Formula (II) below: where R1, R2 and R3 each independently denote any one of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group which may contain a substituent, and an alkoxy group which may contain a substituent, where R4 and R5 each denote a tertiary butyl group, and R6 and R7 each independently denote one of an alkyl group which may contain a substituent, and an aryl group which may contain a substituent.
Abstract: Improved techniques which enable a user of a terminal to select a printer, without a priori knowledge of available printers, for printing a print job are provided. A map indicating locations of available printing devices is retrieved from a back-end server based on user information or other information retrieved from the user, and provided to the user terminal for user selection of an appropriate printing device.
Abstract: A coverall is convenient for a worker to act, and can be easily distinguished at night, with a convenience for a worker in doing a job. The coverall includes an upper clothes part, waist part and lower clothes part. The coverall has a shape wrapping an upper body of worker, and the upper and lower clothes parts are united through the waist part. The upper clothes part includes a wear fastener part, front-face protective cover, back fold part formed folded on the right and left both sides of the back surface, and a luminous band. The waist part has a waist band with elasticity. The lower clothes part is coupled to the upper clothes part in a united type with the waist part, and includes a lower clothes opening part openable along a hip part of worker on a rear face, a dual pocket, and a luminous band. The lower clothes opening part is formed in a “?” or “?” shape.
Abstract: A method for distributing a digital image of a customer includes receiving a request from a customer to a human representative (i.e., a “roving” photographer) for an image to be taken of the customer at a site. An image of the customer is captured by the “roving” photographer at the site in response to the received request. The image is transmitted to a remote processor. An electronic request is received from the customer to view the transmitted image, and the image is transmitted from the remote processor to the customer's communication device. If the customer decides to purchase the image, a transaction is finalized by receiving payment data from the customer, and the final image is provided to the customer. A commission is then paid to the photographer for the transaction. In another embodiment, the cost is at least partially subsidized by advertisement pushed to the customer's communication device.
