Abstract: A submersible pumping system includes a motor, a pump driven by the motor, a seal section disposed between the pump and the motor and an inline monitoring package connected between the seal section and the motor. The inline monitoring package is electrically connected to the motor through a wye point connection. The inline monitoring package preferably includes a sensor array that includes a plurality of sensors configured to measure conditions internal and external to the submersible pumping system. The inline monitoring package further includes a shaft configured to transmit the output from the motor to the pump. The inline monitoring package further includes a fluid exchange system that accommodates the thermal expansion of lubricants in the motor.
Abstract: A building with an integrated wind-powered electricity generation system includes a plurality of floors, wherein each of the plurality of floors includes inhabitable space. The building further includes a plenum space between adjacent ones of the plurality of floors and a plurality of vertical axis wind turbines, wherein each of the plurality of vertical axis wind turbines is positioned within a separate plenum space. The building further includes at least one electricity generator operably coupled to the plurality of vertical axis wind turbines. At least one of the vertical axis wind turbines includes a wind screen extending around a portion of the outer circumference of the vertical axis wind turbine.
Abstract: A seal section for use with a downhole pumping system includes a rotatable shaft, a seal section head and a mechanical seal chamber inside the seal section head. The mechanical seal chamber is bounded by a floor and a wall. The mechanical seal chamber includes a trench disposed in the floor that is configured to entrap solid particles in the mechanical seal chamber at a distance spaced apart from the mechanical seal.

Abstract: A seal section for use in a downhole submersible pumping system includes a housing, a bag support tube extending through the housing, a shaft positioned inside the bag support tube and a bag plate connected to the bag support tube. The bag plate preferably includes an end cap secured to the bag support tube and a locking collar threadingly engaged with the end cap. The bag plate is configured to receive the open end of a cylindrical seal bag manufactured from perflouroalkoxy polymer. The end cap includes a tapered head that tapers from a first diameter that is slightly larger than the inner diameter of the seal bag to a second diameter that is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the seal bag. This mechanism for securing the seal bag obviates the need for o-ring or other mechanical seals between the seal bag and the bag plate.
Abstract: A downhole submersible pumping system includes a housing and a bag seal assembly. The bag seal assembly includes a seal bag and a fastening assembly. The fastening assembly is configured to exert a compressive force between inner and outer surfaces of a first end of the seal bag. The fastening assembly may include a first ring attached to the support tube, a second ring and a plurality of fastening members. The first ring may be configured for threaded engagement with the support tube. The second ring is configured for engagement with the first ring.
Abstract: A connection assembly for connecting sub-sea lines and devices includes a stab receptacle assembly and a stab assembly. The stab receptacle assembly includes a receptacle body and an outlet assembly, which in turn, includes an adapter nipple configured for attachment to the first sub-sea line. A swivel flange secures the adapter nipple to the first side of the receptacle body. The use of the adapter nipple and swivel flange eliminates a difficult weld between the adapter nipple and the receptacle body. The connection assembly further includes a stab assembly that has a base, a line end connected to the base and a stab body connected to the base. The stab body is configured for insertion into the stab receptacle. The line end is configured for connection to the second sub-sea line.

Abstract: The slab edge forming and insulating system includes edge members and support braces. The edge members include an elongated shell having an upright portion with an insulated inside surface, an upper portion and a lower portion. Each of the upper and lower portions have formed edges. Open cross sectioned support braces having upper and lower formed edges for engaging the formed edges of the elongated shell are fixed to a footing and connected to the edge members. The edge members form and insulate the edges of the poured concrete of the slab while the open cross sectioned support braces receive the poured concrete of the slab and thus anchor the edge members to the edge of the slab.
Abstract: A system for utilizing building blocks to build a corrugated structural section that incorporates continuous longitudinal reinforcement with an offset joint pattern. The system includes building blocks whose shapes include open-core units. The use of the system results in a corrugated structural section that is useful for construction of walls, screens, fences, floors, roofs, and other construction elements requiring corrugated structural panels.
Abstract: Disclosed is a modular circuit system for use in a wiring system. The modular circuit system includes a circuit box and a fitting. The circuit box includes fitting prong receptacles that are in electrical communication with ground, neutral and hot wires from the wiring system. The fitting includes a plurality of prongs configured for insertion into the fitting prong receptacles of the circuit box. The insertion of the fitting prongs into the fitting prong receptacles places the fitting in electrical communication with circuit box. The modularity of the circuit box and fitting permit the exchange of various fittings into the circuit box.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an insulated duct segment includes the step of forming an inner duct that has an inner duct cross-sectional area and an inner duct length. An outer duct with an outer duct cross-sectional area and an outer duct length is also formed. The method further includes the step of placing the inner duct inside the outer duct such that an annular space is formed between the inner duct and the outer duct. Finally, fluidized insulating material is injected into the annular space.
Abstract: An attachment used in conjunction with a backhoe or track hoe to convert it into a machine to unload ties off of railroad cars. Two pins on an upper end of the attachment secure it to the distal end of the working arm of the backhoe or track hoe so that a front edge of the attachment point toward the backhoe or track hoe. Upper ends of four c-shaped members attached to an upper plate on the upper end of the attachment. Opposite lower ends of each of the four spaced apart c-shaped members are flattened on upper and lower surfaces into a point. A lower plate is secured to the upper surfaces of the lower ends of the c-shaped members to form the front edge. Support bars secure between adjacent c-shaped members and openings are provided in the c-shaped members to reduce weight while maintaining strength.

The alkyl esters and triglycerides are introduced into a second reaction vessel, in which at least a portion of the triglycerides are converted to alkyl esters and glycerin through transesterification. The alkyl esters, glycerin, and remaining triglycerides are introduced into a third reaction vessel, in which at least a portion of the remaining triglycerides are converted to alkyl esters and glycerin through transesterification.

Abstract: In accordance with a first aspect of the instant invention, there is provided a method of gas pool balancing which provides a method of simultaneously and systematically balancing an entire gas transmission network. In a first embodiment, the instant method operates by identifying pools with input amounts of gas available, numerically distributing that gas throughout a representation of the gas network, and, thereafter, physically distributing gas in that network according to the solution obtained. In another embodiment, the instant method operates by forming a system of equations that define the topology of the gas transmission network. Solution of the resulting system of equations yields a rapid and accurate system-wide solution to the gas balancing problem which heretofore was solved by repeated iterations of an algorithm which balanced one pool at a time.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the treatment of hydrogen sulfide. The method preferably includes forming a solvent-surfactant blend, preparing a microemulsion by combining the solvent-surfactant blend with a carrier fluid and contacting the hydrogen sulfide with the microemulsion. In preferred embodiments, the solvent-surfactant blend includes a surfactant and a solvent selected from the group consisting of terpenes and alkyl or aryl esters of short chain alcohols.

Abstract: An hydraulic proportioning system having a fluid actuated motor with a driven motor shaft, the motor being in fluid communication with and powered by a fluid source. A pump is provided having a drive shaft driven by the driven motor shaft of the fluid actuated motor, and a drive clutch interconnecting the driven motor shaft and the drive shaft of the pump. An injector manifold is in fluid communication with the pump which is connectable to a chemical source. A tube is in fluid communication with the injector manifold and extends into a chamber having fluid communication with the fluid source, the chemical and fluid from the fluid source combining in the chamber and discharged therefrom.
Abstract: Disclosed is a transaction card assembly that includes a transaction card and a carrier. The transaction card includes four sides, of which two are connected to the carrier. A magnetic stripe extends across the transaction card and a portion of the carrier. The transaction card and carrier collectively form a substantially rectangular-shaped transaction card assembly.
