  • Patent number: 8333150
Abstract: A method for starting up a web-fed printing press is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes: a) a first start-up sequence is executed while using predetermined preset parameters that are specific to the printing press and/or the print job for the color register adjustment, cut-off compensator control and the ink density control; b) the web-fed printing press is subsequently stopped, where copies printed during the first start-up sequence are evaluated with respect to the color register, the cut-off compensator and the ink density, and where the preset parameters are adjusted as a function of this evaluation while the printing press is stopped; c) following this, a second start-up sequence is executed, where the preset parameters that are adjusted during the standstill are not used for printing until defined printing press speeds are reached and/or exceeded.

  • Patent number: 8335397
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for removing artifacts from an image generated a charged partial beam scanning device, a scanning method is determined, and the frequency of an artifact appearing on an image can then be determined, based on scanning method. A step 703, a frequency domain for removing an artifact can be determined from the vertical and horizontal widths determined by experimentation in advance with respect to the frequency position Photography is performed to obtain an image, which is Fourier transformed and the determined frequency domain is replaced, for example, by “0.” The resulting image is subjected to inverse Fourier transformation, and displayed and stored. The flow of such processing enables decreasing an artifact appearing on an image, depending on a scanning method.

  • Patent number: 8333550
Abstract: A twin scroll exhaust gas turbocharger for an internal-combustion engine, includes a turbine housing and a first and a second gas inlet port separated from one another by the turbine housing. The inlet ports lead into a first and a second spiral duct, respectively, which extend radially on the outside around an exhaust gas turbine rotatable about an axis. The gas inlet ports are arranged at least in sections parallel to one another in the turbine housing and radially with respect to the axis of rotation in a mutually spaced manner. The first spiral duct, which connects to the first gas inlet port arranged closer to the axis of rotation, extends up to 180° around the exhaust gas turbine. The second spiral duct, which connects to the second gas inlet port farther away from the axis of rotation, extends up to 180° around the remaining circumference of the exhaust gas turbine. As a result, thermal stress to the turbine housing is significantly reduced.

  • Patent number: 8328544
Abstract: The invention reduces a centrifugal force of an orbiting scroll which acts on an auxiliary crank mechanism. A crank pin which is eccentric from a main shaft portion is formed in a drive shaft and attached to an orbiting bearing which is provided in a back face side of an orbiting scroll. The main shaft portion of the drive shaft is rotatably supported by a main bearing. An internal gap of the main bearing is set to a value which is larger than a value obtained by subtracting the double value of an eccentric amount difference between an eccentric amount of an auxiliary crank shaft and an eccentric amount of the drive shaft from an internal gap of the orbiting bearing.
