Abstract: A magnifier apparatus for use with a hand-held video display apparatus which magnifier apparatus has a frame with a magnifier lens, the frame secured to a support, the support releasably adapted to be secured in a snap-in relationship to the sides of the housing of the video display apparatus in an upright, correct position, the frame with the magnifier lens adapted to move between an open, use position over the screen of the video display apparatus and a closed, non-use position nested within the support.

Abstract: A printable carpet material which carpet material comprises a fibrous face, a primary backing sheet and a backing layer comprising a bitumen backing composition containing a thermosetting amount of a hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene-diisocyanate urethane polymer to provide a heat stable carpet material subject to a wet stream printing process without substantial carpet material edge loss or distortion. A method of preparing a carpet material which is steam printable and which method comprises applying as a backing layer to a fibrous carpet material a bitumen backing composition containing a thermosetting amount of a hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene-diisocyanate urethane polymer which permits the carpet material so prepared to be subject to wet, steam printing processes without substantial carpet material edge loss or distortion.

Abstract: A transdermal drug delivery system which system comprises an impervious backing sheet and face membrane, the backing sheet and membrane secured together to form an intermediate reservoir. The face membrane is a macroporous membrane which has pores of sufficient size to avoid any rate control of the drug to be transdermally delivered to the user. The reservoir contains a viscous liquid base material selected to exude from the membrane to form a film and to occlude the skin of the user to force hydration of the stratum corneum with water from the lower layers of the epidermis of the user. The liquid base material contains an effective, therapeutic amount of the drug for transdermal delivery, such as the contraceptive steroid, which drug is highly soluble in the liquid base material.

Abstract: A selective medium composition for the growth and detection of Actinomyces viscosus or Actinomyces naeslundii, which composition comprises: a solid medium selective to induce the growth of Actinomyces viscosus or Actinomyces naeslundii; a nutrient agent to induce the substantial growth of Actinomyces viscosus or Actinomyces naeslundii; a cadmium compound; a fluoride compound; a flavine compound; and the cadmium compound, the fluoride compound and the flavine compound all present in a concentration sufficient to inhibit the substantially full growth of interfering microorganisms, but in a concentration insufficient to inhibit the substantial growth of Actinomyces viscosus or Actinomyces naeslundii.
