Abstract: A transfer conveyor which prevents collisions between works to be conveyed when the works to be conveyed or stored are carried on a conveyer track by a work support having a length shorter than the length of works to be conveyed, which permits reverse traveling during maintenance operations and the like. The collision preventing mechanism includes a sensing element which is biased into a contact position where it engages a leading work support on the conveyor track and is deflected, a sensing lever 132, which mounts the sensing element and pivots in accordance with the contacting/deflecting operation of the sensing element, and a stopper lever downstream from the sensing element, which is connected to the sensing element to be displaced into the path of travel of the next trailing work support when the sensing element is in the contacting position, The stopper lever limits the travel of the trailing work support to a predetermined storage conveying interval.
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for detecting, quantifying and/or identifying a fungal species in a sample or for diagnosing jejunal hemorrhage syndrome in a subject. The methods generally include amplifying a fungal nucleic acid sequence present in the sample using a primer selected from the group consisting of: SEQ. ID NO 5, SEQ. ID NO 6, SEQ. ID NO 7, SEQ. ID NO 8, SEQ. ID NO 9, SEQ. ID NO 10, SEQ. ID NO 11, SEQ. ID NO 12, SEQ. ID NO 13, SEQ. ID NO 14 or SEQ. ID NO 16; and observing or measuring the amplified nucleic acid sequence. The fungal species can thereby be detected, quantified, and/or identified. Fungal contamination also can be detected or measured in a biological or feed or food sample.

Abstract: A cylindrical bearing member, which can hold lubricating oil in blind grooves as oil reservoirs for a long period of time to exhibit a lubricating function sufficiently, the blind grooves being efficiently mass-produced on the inside of the cylindrical member at low cost. The cylindrical bearing member has an inner circumferential surface having a plurality of blind grooves and is formed as a hollow open-ended cylindrical member with a bottom from a circular column-shaped crude material or blank. The blank includes a tapered inner circumferential surface at its open end. A groove forming die pin including groove forming protrusions is pushed from the open end towards the bottom to obtain a cylindrical member in which a plurality of grooves are formed on the inner surface.
Abstract: Methods and kits for determining the specificity of siRNAs for their targets are provided. Also provided is a method for performing genetic analysis of the target protein or gene using different versions of a synthetic gene to complement the phenotype induced by RNAi-mediated silencing of the target protein and/or gene of interest. Finally, a method for treating genetic disorders associated with production of mutated proteins is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention discloses methods and kits for the determination of the concentration of one or more analytes in a liquid sample using capture agents immobilised on a solid support and binding agents for binding the analyte(s), the binding agents having tail groups capable of binding to the respective capture agent. Preferably, the capture agents and binding agents are complementary oligonucleotides, and the capture agents are immobilised in the form of microspots. The use of the tail groups and capture agents can allow the binding of the analyte(s) to the binding agent(s) to take place in solution, rather than at a surface, improving the kinetics associated with this process. In addition, the user of the assay can customise any suitable binding agents for use with a universal support, by attaching tail groups them.
Abstract: Mini chaperones and methods of use thereof for the treatment of cancer and other disorders are provided. Also provided are tools to facilitate screening therapeutic agents which have selective binding affinity for GRP94.

Abstract: A transmission chain for a transmission having a drive sprocket and a driven sprocket with chain guides between the sprockets, at least one of the guides having a curved surface on which one of the runs of the chain slides in its travel between the sprockets. The chain has inner and outer link plates which respectively mount bushings and connecting pins which pass through the bushings with a clearance. The link plates have sliding surfaces which slide on the guide. The transmission chain has a chain pitch defined as P1, and the maximum clearance formed between the connecting pins and the bushings is defined as C. The sliding surfaces are curved like the guide and the curved surfaces of one of the outer and inner link plates, has a curve width X, and the curved surface of the other of the inner and outer link plates, has a curve width Y.
Abstract: An adjustable V-plow apparatus for removing material from a belt may comprise pivotably connected first and second frame arms that may be pivoted at the pivotable connection for adjusting the angle therebetween. A cleaning media is mounted to the first and second frame arms for providing a cleaning edge along the first and second frame arms. A mounting is attached to the first and second frame arms proximate the pivotable connection thereof. The mounting may comprise a base plate and an arm for positioning the adjustable V-plow to engage a belt.

Abstract: A mounting device may comprise a base having first and second sides and having a cavity in the first side thereof; a pin in the cavity and extending from the base to define an axial direction; a plate disposed in the cavity and movable in the axial direction on the pin; a spring for biasing the plate away from the base in the axial direction; and a bracket extending from the second side of the base, wherein the bracket may be adjustable for gripping an object to which the mounting device may be mountable.
Abstract: A method of locating the position of a selected neural centre in the central nervous system of an animal is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of (a) stimulating neurons at a first central nervous system position; (b) measuring the field potential evoked at a second central nervous system position; and (c) comparing the evoked field potential against a known evoked field potential from the neural centre.
Abstract: An electrical switch arrangement comprises at least one actuator for selectively making and breaking an electrical connection between electrical contacts thereof, and an indicator light source for selectively producing light. A switch housing supports the actuator so that the actuator may be actuated, and covers the indicator light source. The switch housing is translucent and/or transparent to light produced by the indicator light source so that the indicator light source is visible through the switch housing when the indicator light source is producing light.
