Abstract: A direct-coated sponge abrasive material bearing a releasable securing means comprising one part of a two part hook and loop attachment system is provided.
Abstract: A laminate for use in decorating a receptor surface (e.g., a window) comprising a piece of decorative sheet material with a layer of aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive on its rear surface and a release liner over that layer of adhesive; and a flexible, temporary support tape comprising a backing and a layer of repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive on a second surface of the backing. A longitudinally extending part of the layer of repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive of the support tape is adhered to a front surface of the decorative strip, and an elongate portion of the support tape projects transversely away from a first edge surface of the decorative sheet material.
Abstract: An abrasive article includes a substrate having opposed first and second surfaces, a make coat on at least a portion of the first surface, abrasive mineral particles on at least a portion of the make coat to provide an abrasive surface and a size coat arranged over at least a portion of the abrasive surface, wherein the size coat has a Young's modulus of less than 100,000 psi.
Abstract: A hanger comprising a base having a supported surface adapted to be positioned along a generally vertical surface, and an elongate peg having one end mounted on the base with a portion of the peg projecting from an outer surface of the base opposite its supported surface generally at a right angle with respect to the supported surface of the base. The peg has an axially extending surface portion adapted to be positioned uppermost when the supported surface of the base is positioned along a generally vertical surface, which axially extending surface portion restricts free movement axially of the peg of sheets of paper around and hanging on the peg. That axially extending surface portion can be defined by a layer of adhesive on the peg or by closely spaced sharp edges on the peg. Such sharp edges could be on screw threads around the peg, ridges extending transversely across the peg, serrations formed on the peg, or by abrasive granules adhered along the peg.
Abstract: A resilient hand-held abrasive article includes a flexible conformable backing layer having opposed first and second major surfaces, a flexible reinforcing layer affixed to at least one of the backing layer first and second major surfaces, and abrasive particles arranged on the reinforcing layer, thereby defining an abrasive surface. The backing layer comprises a multiplicity of separated resilient bodies connected to each other in a generally planar array in a pattern that provides open spaces between adjacent connected bodies.
Abstract: A stretch releasing adhesive article for mounting on a wall surface includes an elongated stretch releasing adhesive strip having a first major surface with a non-adhesive contact surface adjacent the first end, and a backplate having a first major surface including a protrusion arranged in overlapping relation with the adhesive strip non-adhesive contact surface that serves to concentrate a force applied by a user in the region of the first end of the backplate in the region of the non-adhesive contact surface of the adhesive strip. A method of adhesively mounting an item to, and removing an item from, a wall surface that is susceptible to damage without damaging the surface is also disclosed.
