Abstract: A liquid applicator which comprises a liquid storage container fitted with a shaped applicator means that is made of a non-flexible, non-deformable, sintered, porous synthetic plastic resin having a controlled porosity and having omni-directional interconnecting pores.
Abstract: A child resistant package is provided which comprises a container body and removable cap. The cap is only removable by applying pressure to the underside of the cap. Access to the underside of the cap is had through a channel which is longer than the length of the finger of an average child but not longer than the length of the finger of an adult.
Abstract: A portable, battery-operated manicuring machine is disclosed in which the batteries and the final output shaft are aligned substantially coaxially. The motor and actuating switch are positioned within the housing intermediate the battery chamber and the final drive unit with the motor being radially offset from the axis of alignment of the drive unit, batteries and housing and the switch being positioned diametrically opposite the motor. The drive between the motor and the final output shaft includes a gear reduction train comprising a pinion gear on the motor output shaft, a cluster gear having it's larger-diameter gear in meshing relationship with the pinion gear and its smaller gear in meshing relationship with an internally-toothed gear and the output shaft. The motor and gear-reduction train are mounted on opposite sides of a bulkhead which is mounted transversely within the forward part of the machine housing.
Abstract: A tar formulation used in the treatment of skin disorders containing tar, propylene glycol, ethyl alcohol and a gelling agent e.g. Carbopol 940.
Abstract: A sacro-lumbar support belt includes an outer face completely covered by a looped fabric and two elastic tightening panels, each panel rigidly coupled at one end to the outer face and having at its other end a hook means for releasably securing that end to the outer surface at any desired location. Pelvic traction straps with hook means at one end are releasably engageable on the belt outer face at any desired location.
Abstract: APAP tablet containing from about 190 to 1000 milligrams of APAP, from 25 to 100 milligrams of an alkali metal salt of a low substituted carboxymethyl starch such as sodium or potassium, and preferably sodium and, optionally, a non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable binder in a quantity equal to or less than the amount of APAP in the tablet. Several methods are described for preparing these tablets.
Abstract: A composition for lightening hair comprising a liquid vehicle, an oxidizing agent and at least one di-long chain aliphatic hydrocarbon quaternary amine compound and a method for lightening hair using this composition.

Abstract: Oxidation dye compositions particularly useful for dyeing human hair containing as the meta component compounds of the formula: ##STR1## or their non-toxic salts, wherein R is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, phenylalkyl, phenylsulfonyls, alkylsulfonyls or cyanoalkyl.
Abstract: N-mono(alkoxymethyl)phenobarbitals wherein the alkoxy group has 1 to 4 carbon atoms are disclosed. The compounds are prepared by reacting the dialkali metal salt of thiophenobarbital with chloromethyl alkyl ether followed by treating the resultant N,S-bis(alkoxymethyl)thiophenobarbital with an oxidizing agent. The compounds are useful as anti-convulsant agents.
Abstract: A prosthetic joint for the replacement of the ankle joint comprising a tibial member and a talar member each having three distinct complementary bearing surfaces which allow plantar and dorsal flexion and some rotation approximating the movement of the natural ankle joint. The talar member has three adjacent bearing surfaces which are each longitudinally and laterally convexly shaped and the tibial member is provided with three substantially complementary longitudinally and laterally concavely shaped bearing surfaces that provide medial-lateral support while allowing about 5.degree. rotation between the members.
Abstract: The specification discloses 4-N,N-bis-(2-hydroxyethyl)aminoacylphenones which are useful as sunscreening agents for absorbing intermediate range radiation. The acyl moiety is derived from the group of alkanoic acids having from 2 to about 16 carbon atoms.
