  • Patent number: 5160955
Abstract: A shutter actuation apparatus is described that is used in combination with a camera, a camera shutter release button and a cable shutter release. The apparatus has a first and second base. Both bases have gripping side members that grip the body of the camera. The apparatus is snugly attached to the body of the camera over the shutter release and an adapter is aligned with the shutter release button and secured in place. The first base has a longitudinal locator slot to allow the adapter to be moved into more complete alignment with the shutter button. The cable shutter release is then connected to the adapter. This allows a camera that has no provision for using a cable shutter release to be used with one. The first and second base members have a coating of plastic-like material on their lower surface to reduce the chance of scratching the surface of the camera and to enhance the grip of the side members on the camera body.

  • Patent number: 5123839
Abstract: A dental heating apparatus has a cylindrical housing and a heating element in a heating chamber. There is a first tube to transfer air from an air supply source and a second tube to transfer water from a water supply source to the dental tool. The first tube and the second tube enter a first end and exit a second end of the heating chamber. The first tube and the second tube are in a heat conducting contact with and coil around the heating element. There is a preheat temperature sensor in intimate contact with an inlet end of the first and second tube before the first and second tubes contact the heating element. The postheat temperature sensor is in intimate contact with an exit end of the first and second tubes after the first and second tubes break contact with the heating element. There is a heating element circuit connected to the heating element to supply power.

  • Patent number: 5100163
Abstract: A first support member is removably attached to the bicycle and a hinge end of a second support member is hingedly attached to an attachment end of the first support member that allows radial movement of the second support member in relation to the first support member. A wheel is rotatively connected to the second support member, at a wheel end of the second support member, distal from the hinge end. An adjustable preloaded strut is attached, at a first end of the strut, to the first support member. The adjustable preloaded strut is also attached, at a second end of the strut, to the second support member. An adjustable stop member is on one of two rotation restriction lobes to restrict the radial movement of the second support member toward the first support member. Hinge rotation stop tabs are on the hinge that connects the first and second support members to limit the amount of radial movement of the second support member away from the first support member.

  • Patent number: 5096283
Abstract: An adjustable rear view mirror extension apparatus that attaches to a standard existing rear view mirror found in most automobiles and other motor vehicles. The apparatus has a mirror, a mirror frame to secure the mirror, a plurality of lateral supports to position the mirror on the frame, and a flexible mirror retainer to releasingly retain the mirror in the mirror frame. There is a mirror frame support that allows the mirror to rotate on a vertical axis and a rotating device to allow the mirror to rotate on a horizontal axis. The rotating device has a housing comprising two sections. The two sections are adjustably connected to adjust the tension of the insert spring which controls the ease of movement of the mirror around its horizontal axis. The rotating device has a first and second surface with a plurality of radial bosses and grooves, respectively, included are an insert, spring and insert gripping device to restrict rotation.

  • Patent number: 5076305
Abstract: A vibrational cleaning apparatus is presented that has a base with a plurality of suction cup legs attached. Included is a reciprocating armature motor and a tubular housing releasingly attached to the base. The reciprocating armature motor imparts a vibrational pulse to the base. A support disc is releasingly attached to an inside surface of a wall of the tubular housing. A solution container is within the tubular housing and is in intimate contact with the disc. A spring clip, to releasingly suspend and retain items to be cleaned, is attached to the tubular housing. A timer switch, to activate the motor for preselected periods of time, is attached to and passes through the wall of the housing. A wallk plug extends through a base port in the base to the motor and is plugged into a source of AC power.

  • Patent number: 5076531
Abstract: A combination of utility locking devices, for securing and supporting items having a frame-like structure such as ladders between the two brackets, has a first articulated bracket and a second articulated bracket. The first bracket has a base plate and a support arm hingedly connected to the base plate at a first end of the arm. There is a retaining head on a second end of the arm. The first braket is usually placed on a surface and aligned with the second bracket at a point distant the first bracket. The second bracket has several hingedly connected leaves. The second bracket has bracing members to strengthen the bracket in the secured position. The first and second bracket may be placed in a stowed position for convenience.

  • Patent number: 4987827
Abstract: An apparatus for cooking food stuffs especially for frying batter into tortillas. The apparatus has two separate cooking areas. One area has an upper and a first lower heating surface for precooking the tortilla and one area has a single second lower heating surface for additional preparation of the tortilla such as adding and warming a filling or finishing the cooking of the tortilla batter. There is a separate temperature control for each cooking area, an on/off switches and power on indicator light for each cooking area. The apparatus has a tension means that biases the upper heating surface in an open position relative to the first lower heating surface. The heating surfaces have a coating on them to reduce adherence of food stuffs during cooking and to aid in the cleaning of the heating surfaces. There are suction cup feet on the lower housing to reduce any undesirable movement.
