  • Patent number: 5448184
Abstract: Improved apparatus and methods for programming anti-fuse devices utilized in programmable semiconductor chips are described. An anti-fuse device circuit is disclosed wherein an anti-fuse device is connected between two programming transistors, and each programming transistor is connected to a separate voltage supply bus and to a control bus network having, for example, a common control bus or separate control buses. Interconnection structures of anti-fuse devices can be formed and a targeted anti-fuse device can be programmed by connecting a programming voltage to the first associated supply bus, by connecting another voltage or ground potential to the second associated supply bus, and by turning on the appropriate control bus line or lines so that the programming transistors conduct to provide a voltage differential across the targeted anti-fuse device.

  • Patent number: 5447632
Abstract: In a hydrocyclone plant for treating fibre suspensions comprising a multiplicity of hydrocyclone bodies (1) each hydrocyclone body is mounted in a hole in a wall (5) and is sealed to the wall with the aid of a sealing ring (18). According to the invention the sealing ring is made of an inexpensive chemical resistant material and is radially cut through, so that two free ends are formed on the sealing ring. The hydrocyclone body is provided with a sealing surface (12) having a radial extension which increases along the hydrocyclone body. Axially along the sealing surface (12) a projection (22) extends between the free ends of the sealing ring. When mounting the hydrocyclone body the sealing ring (8) is adapted to be entrained by the wall (5) along the sealing surface (12), so that the sealing ring is expanded and seals between the sealing surface and the wall.

  • Patent number: 5442950
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for determining the pore volume compressibility, the porosity at stress and the relative porosity change of reservoir rock samples. In accordance with the invention, as few as two pore volume measurements of reservoir rock samples are obtained at simulated overburden pressures and relatively low pore pressure. From these data, a bi-logarithmic plot of pore volume versus pressure for a given reservoir rock sample is prepared. From the slope of the plot, pore volume compressibility of the reservoir rock sample at a given overburden pressure is directly calculated. In a further aspect, the intercept of the pore volume versus pressure plot is obtained, and, in conjunction with a measurement of the grain volume of the sample, the porosity at stress and relative porosity change of the rock sample are determined.

  • Patent number: 5441157
Abstract: A suspension containing fine and coarse particles is sprayed under high pressure by way of spray nozzles (10) against a rotating filter medium (7), so that the suspension is separated into a fine fraction, which passes through the filter medium and which contains said fine particles, and a coarse fraction, which does not pass through the filter medium and which contains said coarse particles. According to the invention the filter medium (7) is rotated by way of a drive motor (6) at a speed such that coarse particles and liquid developing on the side of the filter medium are removed from the filter medium substantially as the result of the centrifugal force the coarse particles and liquid are subjected to. In consequence the filter medium is efficiently kept clean during operation, which increases the capacity and improves the separation efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5440227
Abstract: A multi-channel electromagnetically transparent voltage probe transmission link system for monitoring a plurality of voltage signals at a plurality of test points of a device under test that is subjected to a radiation field. Each channel includes two voltage probes, an electrical to optical signal transmitter, an optical signal transmission line and a receiver located out of the radiation field. The voltage probes contact and sense the voltage signals at the test point. The electrical to optical transmitters are removably mounted in a common base and are powered by either a common (or shared) power supply and/or by dedicated power supplies, such as rechargeable batteries. The receivers process the optical signals and provide display signals corresponding to the sensed voltage signal at the plurality of test points for evaluating the effect of the test radiation field.

  • Patent number: 5437794
Abstract: In a hydrocyclone the separation chamber (2) has a circumferential wall (3) provided with at least one turbulence creating member (12), which extends along the circumferential wall and crosses a helical path (10) along which a liquid stream is generated during operation. According to the invention, the turbulence creating member is formed by an offset (12) on the circumferential wall (3). The offset is formed and dimensioned such that said liquid stream substantially loses its contact with the circumferential wall as the liquid stream passes the offset. As a result turbulence is created in a layer of the liquid stream situated closest to the circumferential wall, without the liquid stream developing any substantial flow component directed inward in the separation chamber.

  • Patent number: 5430279
Abstract: Magnetic media containing data and method for data verification are disclosed. The data verification method utilizes the relative position of specific features of magnetic media signals, such as, peak zero crossings, the ratio of preselected amplitudes, the locii of preselected points along the signal, the RMS value of the waveform and the like. In the preferred embodiment, the ratio of the separation of adjacent pulses in the signal is employed. The deviation of the precise location of the placement of the peak points in the signal waveform is referred to as "jitter". This "jitter" is enhanced to provide a pattern of "jitter" or a magnetic "signature" that is random, nonreproducible and that can be used to positively identify a particular specimen of magnetic media and the associated data. The magnetic jitter pattern or security signature can be separate from or an integral part of the data recorded on the magnetic media.
