Abstract: A digital-analog converter for producing less distorted output waveforms without the need for an increase in the operating speed of components. A D/A converter 1 comprises a memory 10, an address counter 12, a B spline function generation circuit 14, four sampling function generation circuits 16, three delay circuits 18, four amplifiers 20, and three adding circuits 22, 24 and 26. Four items of digital data supplied one after another in the predetermined time interval T are stored in the memory 10. The gain of each of the four amplifiers 20 is set according to the corresponding digital data. The four sampling function generation circuits 16 generate signal waveforms of the sampling function, which appear individually in points a time T away from one another. The signal waveforms are amplified in the amplifier 20 and added to produce an analog signal associated with the interpolation value.

Abstract: A reference medium is scanned both with a medium sensor (44) capable of detecting a low-transmittance printing medium with high accuracy and with a medium sensor (45) capable of detecting a high-transmittance medium with low accuracy so as to find edge positions Ry0, Ry1 of the reference medium. The difference Diff0 between the edge positions is calculated and stored as a correction value. If it is hard to detect a printing medium by means of the medium sensor (44), the medium sensor (45) is used to detect the medium, and the resulting edge position is corrected using the correction value Diff0. In addition, for any given printing medium, a first driving level of a light source for outputting a predetermined output amount of the sensor (44) and a second driving level of a light source for outputting a predetermined output amount of the sensor (45) are calculated and, based on the difference between the two driving levels, the type of the printing medium is determined.
Abstract: A folding arm mounted on a column of a musical instrument stand has a seat mounted on the column. The seat has a ring. A tube is perpendicular to the column and extending outwards from the ring. A passage is longitudinally defined in the tube. A slot is longitudinally defined through a front end of the tube. An elbow has a rear part pivotally mounted in the slot by a pivot pin. Two movable pieces are received in the passage and pushed by the rear part to tightly abut the column when the elbow is perpendicular to the column. A bar is mounted on a front part of the elbow. Whereby, when the elbow is perpendicular to the column, the arm is secured on the column. When the elbow is pivoted to a position parallel to the column, the arm is movable for adjusting the support height of the stand.
Abstract: An excimer laser apparatus using a bandwidth-narrowing optical system including a beam diameter-enlarging optical system and a Littrow mounting reflection type diffraction grating is made suitable for use as a laser light source for semiconductor lithography or the like by surmounting the limit to bandwidth narrowing due to wavefront distortion induced by the reflection type diffraction grating. In an excimer laser apparatus having a bandwidth-narrowing optical system including a Littrow mounting reflection type diffraction grating and a combination of a beam diameter-enlarging optical system and a slit placed on the entrance side of the reflection type diffraction grating, diffracted wavefront distortion (a measured value for He—Ne laser light) within the laser irradiation area of the reflection type diffraction grating in Littrow mounting is not more than &lgr;/10, where &lgr; is a measuring wavelength.

Alternatively, it includes a detector that recognizes the kind of a print medium that has been set and that controls the suction force of the suction fan according to the recognized kind of print medium, as the predetermined condition.
Abstract: An automatic extruding machine includes a base member, a molding device mounted on a middle portion of the base member, an input extruding device mounted on the base member and connected to the molding device, a feeding device mounted on the base member below the input extruding device, an output extruding device mounted on the base member and corresponding to the input extruding device, an exporting device mounted on the base member below the output extruding device and a cutting device mounted on the top of the molding device toward the input extruding device. The automatic extruding machine in accordance with the present invention further comprises a control unit provided to control the above devices to automatically finish the extruding process.
