  • Patent number: 6899676
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining the stress capacity of a person taking into consideration the individual anaerobic threshold by measuring lactate concentrations in relation to physical effort. To make it possible to deduce from the changes in lactate concentration other performance data characteristic of the person tested, the invention provides for the following process steps: measurement of time-dependent lactate concentration changes above the individual anaerobic threshold; adjustment of the measurement cure, in which lactate concentration is recorded in relation to time, to the measurement values obtained in this way; determination of a first rise in the measurement curve at a time tIAT which corresponds to the individual anaerobic threshold: determination of at least one other rise in the measurement curve at a time tx where tx>tIAT and subtraction of the second rise from the first rise to determine a difference ?A.

  • Patent number: 6892698
Abstract: A throttle control device includes a throttle body (1). In the throttle body, an intake passage (1a), a first space (24a), and a second space (44) are formed. In the intake passage, a throttle valve (2) is rotatably arranged. The throttle valve is rotated by a motor (4). The motor is accommodated in the first space. The second space communicates with the first space. In addition, the second space is adjacent to the intake passage through the intermediation of a wall portion (20a). This makes it possible for the heat generated in the motor to be effectively dissipated from the first space into the intake passage via the second space and the wall portion.

  • Patent number: 6889581
Abstract: A wrench including a stem having a head section at one end of the stem and a polygonal socket formed in the head section for fitting onto a screwed member. A resilient ring is disposed at the head section and pivotally connected with a controlling switch pivotally disposed at the head section. By means of operating the controlling switch, the resilient ring is driven to expand or close. In the closed position, the resilient ring obstructs at least one inner angle of the socket to prevent the screwed member from detaching out of the socket and clamp the screwed member in the socket. In the expanded position, the resilient ring frees the inner angle, permitting the screwed member to freely pass through the socket.

  • Patent number: 6886961
Abstract: Power tools (1) may include an electric motor (11) disposed within a housing (5). A lighting device (20) may be mounted on the housing and may serve to illuminate the area around a tool bit and/or a portion of a workpiece (W) that will be machined by the tool bit. An electric light (23) may be connected to a power source circuit (11a) via an electric line that includes electric wires (25). In order to facilitate the wiring operation, a wire guide (22, 122) preferably supports or retains at least a portion of the electric line. The wire guide may be mounted on the housing such that the wire guide extends along an inner surface or an outer surface of the housing. In the alternative, the electric line may be disposed within a recess (31) defined within an inner surface or an outer surface of the housing. In either case, the electrical line can be easily wired or installed and the electric line preferably does not interfere with machining operations during operation of the power tool.

  • Patent number: 6888467
Abstract: A gas detection instrument comprises a combustible gas sensor and associated circuitry, which supplies power to the sensor and measures and displays resulting sensor response. The supplied power is switched between timed pulses of electricity and steady state electricity, with the intermittent electricity being employed only when no significant change in sensor output has been detected. Alternatively, timed pulses of electricity are maintained, and predictive software algorithms are used to give readings for gas concentration during interruption of the power supply. The sensor operation enables the instrument to respond to rapid changes in gas concentration while minimizing power consumption of the sensor.
