  • Patent number: 6877288
Abstract: A waterproof-sheet type of roofing shingle comprises a belt-like tape attached to a bottom side of the roofing shingle facing a concrete slab. The belt-like tape has air passages for reducing a pressure of steam or vapor generated from concrete. The air passages are formed by projections or grooves and adapted to be in communication with air passages of an adjacent roofing shingle. The air passages are eventually in communication with an ambient atmosphere so as to vent the steam or vapor to the atmosphere, and therefore, bulging of waterproofing material is prevented from occurring.

  • Patent number: 6878357
Abstract: In a BAYER circuit, a process for controlling precipitation in which particle size quality of alumina hydrate produced in the circuit and circulating in feed tanks is monitored utilizing a calibration step and a control step. In the calibration step, cumulative percentage of alumina hydrate particles circulating in the feed tanks in the circuit that are finer than X2 ?m, defined as CPFT X2, is measured vs. time and cumulative percentage of alumina hydrate particles circulating in the feed tanks in the circuit that are finer that X1 ?m, defined as CPFT X1 vs. time, is measured, where X1 and X2 are predetermined particles sizes and X1 is smaller than X2. A relationship R between CPFT X1 and later changes in CPFT X2, is determined and upper and lower trigger thresholds of CPFT X1 which correspond to maximum permissible variation in CPFT X2 are defined. In the control step, CPFT X1 and CPFT X2 are regularly measured, and R and the correlation between CPFT X2 and the particle size of hydrate produced are updated.

  • Patent number: 6875919
Abstract: A folding lamp rod and junction box structure for lamps comprised of a junction box and lamp rods hinged to the junction box. The junction box has a plurality of portals appropriately arrayed along the plane of its circumference and, furthermore, a pivot hole is formed in the top surface at the lateral edge of each portal in the junction box to provide for movably locating the lamp rods. Each lamp rod has a joint section at its proximal section that is hinged to the junction box and, furthermore, the joint section is coupled via the junction box the pivot hole. The lamp rod has a spring element situated at an appropriate area and, furthermore, the vertex portion of the spring element protrudes slightly to the circumferential edge. When the joint section is conjoined to the junction box, the spring element vertex portion engages the lateral edge of the junction box portal, thereby securing the lamp rod onto the junction box portal.
