  • Patent number: 8346293
Abstract: There are provided a plurality of systems of reconfigurable radio processing unit (102) whose function and performance can be modified. A control unit (104) collects quality information on the communication link in communication methods received at respective radio processing systems (102a, 102b). According to this, the control unit (104) selects an optimal communication method and transmission mode from a plurality of communication methods and transmission modes (for example, diversity transmission between a plurality of systems, diversity transmission by a single communication method, and MIMO channel multiplex transmission). By modifying configurations of the reconfigurable radio processing unit (102) according to the selected communication method and transmission mode, it is possible to communicate at a desired transmission mode. Thus, it is possible to perform an optimal transmission to the communication link according to the quality condition and other request condition.

  • Patent number: 8343370
Abstract: A method of fabricating a PTFE seal element and rotary shaft seal assembly therewith. The method includes providing a PTFE seal element and a vacuum chamber having electrodes therein. Next, placing the PTFE seal element on one electrode and drawing a vacuum pressure in the chamber and introducing a first process gas into the chamber. Further, applying a high frequency signal to the electrodes and producing a discharge plasma and etching and chemically modifying a surface of the PTFE seal element with the discharge plasma. Then, purging the vacuum chamber with a second process gas and restoring the vacuum chamber to an atmospheric pressure. Thereafter, rinsing the seal element and applying an adhesion promoter to the etched and chemically modified surface. Lastly, attaching the etched and chemically modified surface of the PTFE seal element to the carrier by molding an elastomeric material between the seal element and the carrier.

  • Patent number: 8340154
Abstract: Disclosed are a radio transmission device and a radio transmission method which can reduce a processing amount or a memory amount while maintaining the randomizing effect of other cell interference. When using as a reference signal, a ZC sequence of the sequence length uniquely correlated to a transmission bandwidth of a reference signal, as the transmission bandwidth becomes smaller and the sequence length of the ZC sequence becomes shorter, the sequence is switched at a shorter time interval and as the transmission bandwidth becomes greater and the sequence length of the ZC sequence becomes longer, the switching is performed at a longer time interval. Thus, a reference signal is generated by using the ZC sequence in accordance with the timing into which the reference signal transmission bandwidth and the sequence are switched.

  • Patent number: 8340589
Abstract: A radio communication device capable of lightening the influence of a frequency selective fading in the wide-band transmission of a single carrier thereby to prevent deterioration of error rate characteristics. In this device, an FFT unit subjects a modulated signal inputted from a modulation unit to a Fourier transformation. A pilot insertion unit inserts a pilot symbol into a plurality of individual frequency components of the modulated signal. Weight multiplication units multiply the individual frequency components and the pilot symbols inserted into the individual frequency components, by weight coefficients set at a weight coefficient setting unit. IFFT units subject the frequency components to an inverse Fourier transformation, thereby to convert the frequency components into time domains.
