Abstract: In a radar, a frequency-modulated transmission signal whose frequency varies in time is generated. The gain-frequency characteristics of an IF signal which represents a beat signal between the transmission signal and a reception signal has its peak at or below one half of the sampling frequency of an AD converter. The gain-frequency characteristics of an IF amplifier circuit is determined so that the gain increases as the frequency increases at or below the frequency corresponding to the peak, the ratio of change in the gain relative to change in the frequency becomes smaller at short distances for which a saturation of a mixer is caused, and the gain is reduced at DC and in the vicinity of DC.
Abstract: Provided is a piezoelectric ceramic compact useful as a material for a piezoelectric ceramic compact device or the like, having SrBi4Ti4O15 as a main component, containing no or a small amount of lead or lead compound, and exhibiting a Qmax improved to a level permitting practical use application. The piezoelectric ceramic compact includes a bismuth layer compound as a main component composed of Sr, Bi, Ti and oxygen, and when the molar ratio of Sr, Bi and Ti of the bismuth layer compound as the main component is a:b:c, the relations of 0.13≦a/c<0.25 and 3.5≦(2a+3b)/c≦3.75 are satisfied.

y≦1.333x+2.667
y<0.333x+3.783.
Abstract: A method for adjusting Vt while minimizing parasitic capacitance for low voltage high speed semiconductor devices. The method uses shadow effects and an angled punch through prevention implant between vertical structures to provide a graded implant. The implant angle is greater than or equal to arc tangent of S/H where S is the horizontal distance between, and H is the height of, such vertical structures.
Abstract: In a movable object position detecting apparatus, first oscillation means 56 for outputting an oscillation signal of a first frequency, and second oscillation means 57 for outputting an oscillation signal of a second frequency are mounted on a movable body 40. On the field 3 for the movable objects 40 to be run on there are provided first position determining means 371, 372 for detecting the oscillation signal of the first frequency outputted by the first oscillation means 56 to determine positions on the field 3 where the first oscillation means 56 is located, and second position determining means 373, 374 for detecting the oscillation signal of the second frequency outputted by the second oscillation means 57 to determine positions on the field where the second oscillation means 57 is located. The movable object position detecting apparatus can detect positions of a number of movable bodies run on a predetermined field.
Abstract: A grooming device including a stem, a first and a second arm extending from one end of the stem, the first arm having a first flat surface and the second arm having a second flat surface arranged substantially parallel to the first flat surface. An angled surface is located adjacent to the first flat surface and a blade is located adjacent to the second flat surface such that when a force is exerted on the first and second arms, the first and second flat surfaces come in contact with each other and the blade slides past the angled surface. A housing case member in the general shape of a rectangle and having an opening, configured such that the stem and first and second arm fit inside the opening, encases the tweezer-scissor member when the grooming device is in the folded position. The tweezer-scissor member rotates around a pin which affixes the tweezer-scissor member to the housing case member.
