  • Patent number: 7081677
Abstract: A thermoelectric module is constituted by a pair of substrates having electrodes, which are arranged opposite to each other with a prescribed space therebetween, in which a prescribed number of thermoelectric elements are arranged in such a way that a p-type and an n-type are alternately arranged, so that the thermoelectric elements are connected in series or in parallel together with the electrodes. Herein, one substrate is a heat absorption side, and other substrate is a heat radiation side. In addition, a current density in a current transmission area of the heat-absorption-side electrode is set to 50 A/mm2 or less, and a height of the thermoelectric element is set to 0.7 mm or less. Furthermore, a temperature-controlled semiconductor module can be realized by combining a thermoelectric module with a semiconductor component such as a semiconductor laser.

  • Patent number: 7082064
Abstract: A DRAM circuit with reduced power consumption and in some circumstances faster memory array access speed. Input/output lines connected to a memory array are sensed according to their capacitance/length in comparison to a threshold capacitance/length. The input/output lines that are shorter, or less capacitive, than the threshold are sensed sooner than those input/output lines that are longer, more capacitive, than the threshold. Since shorter input/output lines are sensed sooner, they require less power and may be accessed faster.

  • Patent number: 7081625
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to transmit the position information of a defect that has been specified by means of a circuit pattern inspection apparatus quickly and precisely so that the position information is efficiently used in another apparatus. Marking is carried out on the peripheral area of the defect by use of a charged particle beam irradiation mechanism of the inspection apparatus. The marking realizes sharing of the defect position information with another apparatus. The marking technique includes deposition of a deposit and charging up by means of irradiation of a charged particle beam. The marking in the inspection apparatus allows the defect position information to be transmitted to another apparatus more correctly and easily, and as a result, analysis accuracy is improved and analysis time is shortened.

  • Patent number: 7081608
Abstract: An imager in which two adjacent pixels share row and reset lines and a row selection circuitry while the output transistors of the two pixels are configured as a differential amplifier. In operation, both pixels are reset at the same time, causing differential reset signals to be output from the amplifier. The charge from the first pixel is readout and a differential pixel signal for the first pixel is output from the amplifier. Because the reset and pixel signals are differential signals generated within the pixels, they are free from common-mode noise. Correlated double sampling can be used to obtain the pixel output value, which is also free from common-mode noise, from the differential reset and pixel signals. The second pixel may be readout in the same manner. Because the two pixels are sharing circuitry, the pixels have decreased fill factor and complexity as well.

  • Patent number: 7078746
Abstract: Pixel cells are provided which employ a gate capacitor associated with the floating diffusion node to selectively increase the storage capacity of the floating diffusion node. The gate capacitor can be formed at the same time as the same process steps used to form other gates of the pixel cells. The inherent capacity of the storage node alone may be sufficient under low light conditions. Higher light conditions may result in selective activation of the gate capacitor, thus increasing the capacity of the storage node with the additional capacity provided by the gate capacitor. The invention produces high dynamic range and high output signal without charge sharing or lag output signal. Methods of forming such pixel cells can be applied in CMOS and CCD imaging devices, image pixel arrays in CMOS and CCD imaging devices, and CMOS and CCD imager systems.

  • Patent number: 7078801
Abstract: A thermoelectric module package stores a thermoelectric module for controlling temperature of a semiconductor element (e.g., a semiconductor laser) having high output power, wherein it is constituted by a frame member and a base member, on which various electrode patterns are formed. That is, the base member has internal electrodes for establishing electrical connections with the semiconductor element and thermoelectric module, and external electrodes for establishing electrical connections with external circuitry. Due to such an integrated arrangement of electrode patterns on the base member, it is possible to reduce the number of parts required for manufacturing the thermoelectric module package, which can be therefore manufactured with ease and at a relatively low cost. Incidentally, the thermoelectric module package can be produced by integrally combining a frame and a base together.
