Abstract: A fabrication sequence of a thin film transistor, in which a photoresist film is used as an ion doping mask to shield a portion of an amorphous semiconductor layer larger than a gate electrode formed above in width (gate length). The mask is designed by pre-calculating the accuracy of the alignment and etching, so that the gate electrode overlaps neither the source region nor drain region. Thus, it has become possible to form the gate electrode in such a manner not to overlap the source region or drain region while securing an impurity-free offset region. As a result, the present thin film transistor can reduce the OFF-state current and renders excellent OFF-state characteristics, and therefore, when employed in a liquid crystal display device, the resulting liquid crystal display device can prevent display defects, such as a flicker.
Abstract: An improved percutaneous introducer device is provided that provides a splittable sheath having a flared lead in for the facile introduction of ancillary medical implements, such as small diameter catheters, guide wires and the like, and a hub member being shaped to matingly underlie the flared lead in. When the hub is separated, such as by wings being pulled apart radially to the sheath, the sheath is longitudinally split, allowing it to be easily removed from an in situ catheter.

Abstract: A mineral absorption promoting agent containing oligouronic acid, e. g. oligogalacturonic acid or oligomannuronic acid ?degree of polymerization (n)=1 to 9! is described. Since this oligouronic acid ?polymerization degree (n)=1 to 9! forms a complex with mineral, it promotes absorption of minerals into living organisms by simply adding it to foods, drinks or pharmacentical compositions for oral use. Since the agent has no problem with safety, the agent is suitable for repeated eating, drinking or taking, and the agent is very effective.
Abstract: A three-dimensional display apparatus includes a liquid crystal panel 1 for displaying a discrete Fourier transformed image and a slit panel 2 having a convex lens function in a horizontal direction and a plurality of slits 3 arranged in a zig-zag manner, which is disposed in front of the liquid crystal panel 1. Since a spatial image is generated by such a configuration, a wide viewing region can be obtained. Since the number of slits positioned in the horizontal direction is increased as that of a slit pattern of a conventional slit array, the deterioration of resolution in the horizontal direction is reduced. Furthermore, since the slits are arranged in a zig-zag manner, the area of each light-shielding portion between sampling positions is reduced, thereby preventing an optical means from obstructing the observation of images.

The method comprises the steps of dissolving a phenol having at least two free phenolic hydroxyl groups and an o-naphthoquinone diazide sulfonyl halide in an aprotic solvent in the presence of a strong base, there being at least one mole of said naphthoquinone diazide sulfonyl halide per mole of phenol, reacting said phenol with said o-napthoquinone diazide sulfonyl halide until essentially of said o-naphthoquinone diazide sulfonyl halide is reacted with said polyhydroxy phenol, and following completion of said reaction, permitting the reaction product to remain in said solvent for a period of time of at least 15 minutes before recovering said photoactive compound The photoactive compound formed by the process is suitable for the formation of photoresists and is less apt to precipitate from solution during storage.
Abstract: A method for producing a photocoupler includes the steps of: forming a waveguide structure on a substrate; forming a photoresist layer having a groove on the waveguide structure; mounting a prism on the photoresist layer so as to partially cover the groove; bonding the prism on the waveguide structure by injecting an adhesive into the groove; and removing the photoresist layer. The groove has a T-shaped pattern including a transverse section extending in a first direction and a longitudinal section extending in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The transverse section has a first width in the second direction which is smaller than a second length of a bonding face of the prism in the second direction. The prism is bonded to the waveguide structure through the bonding face. The longitudinal section has a second width in the first direction which is smaller than a first length of the bonding face of the prism in the first direction.

A wall member is interposed between the frame and the edges of the opening with solder filling the space between the wall member and the frame and also the space between the wall member and the edges of the opening, the wall member being constructed of a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion which is intermediate those of the housing material and the frame material.
Abstract: A fuser having an oil applying felt composed of fluororesin fibers and touching to an oil applying roller. The oil applying felt is dipped in oil preserved in an oil tank at one end, so that the oil is elevated through capillarity and supplied to the oil applying roller. The oil applied over the oil applying roller is leveled by an oil limiting blade, and the oil thus leveled is applied to a fusing roller touching the oil applying roller. Meanwhile, a sheet having thereon formed a non-fused toner image is heated and pressed respectively by the fusing roller and a pressure applying roller, whereupon the non-fused toner on the sheet adheres to the fusing roller. The toner then adheres to the oil applying felt through the oil applying roller. However, the oil applying felt is not clogged with the toner because it is made of the fluororesin fibers.
