  • Patent number: 5936596
Abstract: An image-displaying apparatus that is provided with a display section which is constituted of a plurality of pixels disposed in the form of a matrix and which is capable of displaying images that are different depending on viewing angles from which they are viewed. This arrangement makes it possible to select desired images by changing the viewing angles from which the display section is viewed. This eliminates the necessity of having to wear conventional glasses with a shutter and their inherent inconveniences. Further, this apparatus is suitable for public use as well as for private use, even when only one apparatus is used.

  • Patent number: 5932059
Abstract: In a method for producing a three-dimensional object wherein the object is generated by successive solidification of individual layers of the object from a liquid or powdery material by action of electromagnetic radiation, the problem arises that the object is either distorted due to shrinkage of the material or that the quality of the surface of the object is poor when using a corresponding shrinkage reducing construction. For the solution of this problem, each layer is separated in an inner core region (2) and an outer shell region (3) and the action of the radiation is controlled in the core region and in the shell region for generating different properties of both regions.

  • Patent number: 5933176
Abstract: A voltage from a high voltage power source is applied between a toner support and an opposing electrode to generate an electric field between the two elements which permits the toner carried on the toner support to jump to the opposing electrode side. A control electrode is provided between the developer support and the opposing electrode to control the jumping of the toner. The control electrode is formed with annular electrodes around gates through which the toner passes through. Each annular electrode is supplied with a voltage for causing the toner to jump or for prohibiting the toner from jumping. In applying the voltage for causing the toner to jump to each annular electrode, the control power source starts to apply a voltage for prohibiting the toner from jumping, to annular electrode at a time when the jumping toner travel past the location of the control electrode. In this situation, the traveling toner continues to move toward the recording paper on the opposing electrode.

  • Patent number: 5930388
Abstract: A color image processing apparatus of the present invention includes (1) first lattice for dividing a color separation signal space in the form of a lattice so as to store in a table coordinates of lattice points of the color separation signal space thus divided and (2) second lattice for further dividing a specific unit cube of the lattice in the form of a lattice so as to additionally store in the table coordinates of lattice points of the specific unit cube thus divided. Depending on whether or not inputted image data of image information belong to the specific unit cube of the lattice, color correction method having different conversion accuracy is adopted, thereby permitting to provide a color image processing apparatus which reduce the occurrence of an error when color-correcting a color requiring accurate color correction, and prevent the continuity of an image from being not kept.

  • Patent number: 5926294
Abstract: A three-dimensional image display device capable of displaying a wide screen three-dimensional image which one can easily observe from any position and direction in the same way as viewing an existing object and which device can select display conditions not to allow a three-dimensional image to be semi-transparent, and a method for making said device. Three-dimensional image data includes image data and data on relative positions of each image point (pixel). A screen panel is composed of a plurality of elementary holograms for producing diffracted light for forming each point-image on a three-dimensional image (said elementary hologram is prepared by the method according to the present invention). On the basis of the three-dimensional image data, a control computer controls a modulator and X-Y deflector so that elementary holograms on the screen panel is illuminated one by one with modulated light by raster scanning of a laser light to represent a three-dimensional image composed of point-images.

  • Patent number: 5923716
Abstract: Featured is a plasma extrusion dynamo and methods related thereto. Also featured are fusion reactors using such dynamos and methods. In the methodology of the present invention, a steady-state stream of conductive plasma is forced by pressure or momentum to flow into a magnetic extrusion nozzle made up of converging magnetic field lines so as to form a closed, steady-state current loop within the plasma. The plasma current loop in turn forms a closed set of poloidal field lines which interact with the plasma current to compress and confine a portion of the plasma in a toroidal volume. Such pressure and confinement establish the conditions for magnetically confining controlled nuclear fusion reactions for power generation. A fusion reactor using the plasma extrusion dynamo methodology includes a source of high pressure or high velocity plasma, one or more converging magnetic extrusion nozzles, and a plasma exhaust area at low pressure.

  • Patent number: 5923920
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has an arrangement wherein a main charger includes a charger line corresponding to a region within a reference range on a surface of a photoreceptor and second charger lines corresponding to regions outside the reference range, and the first charger line within the reference range and the second charger lines outside the reference range are driven independently. The reference range is set on the surface of the photoreceptor as a width of a transported sheet which is most frequently used. In a processing control, in the case where toner patch density within the reference range becomes higher than toner patch density outside the reference range, an applied voltage with respect to the charger line within the reference range is increased relatively higher than an applied voltage with respect to the charger lines outside the reference range, thus uniformalizing the toner density with respect to the entire surface of the photoreceptor drum.

  • Patent number: 5914738
Abstract: A convex-concave member with a plurality of protruding portions is provided on the inner surface of a toner holding body. A hitting member for hitting the protruding portions with rotation of the toner holding body is provided inside the toner holding body. As the toner holding body rotates, the hitting member hits an adjacent protruding portion on the upstream side of the protruding portion with which the hitting member have been in contact with respect to the rotation direction of the toner holding body. This vibrates the surface of the toner holding body, and weakens adhesive forces of the toner to the toner holding body. If the hitting member is disposed so as to hit the protruding portion opposing an opposite electrode, the adhesive forces of the toner are weakened only in a toner projection area, while an enough toner transport amount is ensured outside the toner projection area.
