  • Patent number: 5507790
Abstract: Electromedical apparatus is employed together with local topically applied drugs and general medical management program to non-invasively, non-traumatically, reduce in volume without fat cell death, specific local accumulations of stored triacylglyceride by localizing (e.g., focusing) radiant energy and/or localized lipolysis augmentation methods, thereby accelerating local fat tissue lipolysis reaction rates. The radiant energy includes, localized radio frequency, microwave or ultrasound energy, which impinges upon the fat cells to be reduced in volume but not killed or eliminated. Fat cell size reduction occurs through the mechanism of accelerated lipolysis rate which is a function of local cell temperature elevation and local fat cell lipolysis rate augmentation by local lipolytic drug delivery.

C. while said mixture is advanced through the vessel for a time sufficient to distil a sufficient portion of the solvents to yield a solid residue powder, distilled solvents are condensed, and the solid residue powder recovered. The vessel preferably is a mechanical fluidized bed distillation vessel and said mixture is fluidized while being heated therein under a partial vacuum in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. • Patent number: 5441588
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fusing a bell connector to the end of a corrugated thermoplastic pipe are disclosed in which an expandable mandrel grips a preformed bell and a pipe support grips a pipe co-axial with the longitudinal axis of the bell. A pipe trimmer for facing the pipe end may be moved into and out of the axis of the pipe if necessary for trimming the pipe end to provide a uniform planar face and a heater moved sequentially into and out of the axis of the pipe and bell for heating the opposed faces of the trimmed end of the pipe and the end of the bell to a desired fusing temperature. Upon heating of the opposed faces of the bell and the pipe to a predetermined fusing temperature, the said faces of the bell and the pipe are abutted against each other at a predetermined pressure for a time sufficient to fuse the bell and pipe together.
