Abstract: A lock arrangement having a driver element which has two outer surface sections. The first section has a first geometrical cross-section configuration which engages an outer lever spindle in both the locked and unlocked condition. In the unlocked condition, the first section also engages an outer driver spindle which rotates with the outer lever handle and outer lever spindle and engages the latch retraction structure for retraction of the latch. In the locked position, the second outer surface section of the driver element is aligned with outer drive spindle and the second surface section is free of driving engagement with the outer drive spindle such that retraction of the latch is prevented when the outer lever handle is rotated. A solenoid is provided on the interior of the lock and controls the movement of the driver element between the locked and unlocked positions.
Abstract: A cover for a stethoscope head having a discontinuous layer of peelable adhesive in a predetermined pattern for detachable affixing to the head of the stethoscope including the diaphragm and the preselected pattern has a plurality of spaced apart adhesive segments and provides air flow passages from regions between the cover and the diaphragm to regions external the stethoscope to prevent the formation of air pockets and bubbles therebetween.
Abstract: A camping mat in which the upper surface has a plurality of air insulating chambers to provide a reduction in body heat loss of the user. The mat may be configured as either a sleeping mat or a camping chair, or combination thereof, and may be of the self-inflating type with open-cell foam inside a waterproof and airtight envelope. Two pads of flexible foam are in the envelope and the upper pad has a plurality of pad cavities or pad apertures which, upon the assembly of the mat, cause the formation of the air insulating chambers.
Abstract: A frustum cutting insert having a cutting end and a shank end and the cutting end having a cutting edge and inner walls defining a conical tapered surface. First walls in the insert define a cavity at the inner end of the inner walls and second walls define a plurality of apertures extending from the cavity to regions external the cutting insert to define a powder flow passage from regions adjacent the cutting edge, past the inner walls, through the cavity and through the apertures.
Abstract: A seating arrangement having a flexible back and/or seat portion with retaining type pockets thereon for removably retaining at least one bendable rigid support in a predetermined orientation.
Abstract: A vehicle window shade arrangement for at least partially shading the windshield of a vehicle, such as an automobile, having a dash with an upper surface and an elongated opening in the surface extending along the width of the windshield, the window shade arrangement comprising a shade rolled about a shade tube rotatably mounted below the upper surface of the dash; a shade extender-retractor for selectively unrolling the shade from the shade tube to an extended position at least partially shading the windshield, and rolling the shade about the shade tube to a retracted position not shading the windshield; and left and right elongated side supports disposed adjacent left and right sides, respectively, of the windshield. The shade is supported and concealed by the left and right side supports when not retracted. The shade extender-retractor may comprise a manual or powered drive arrangement for driving the shade to the extended and retracted positions.
Abstract: A lobe sensor arrangement for an internal combustion ignition system provides a control signal to an ignition coil of the internal combustion engine to effect sequential firing of spark plugs, the ignition system comprising a distributor camshaft having a plurality of alternate circumferentially spaced lobes and valleys. The lobe sensor arrangement includes a pair of sensors spaced from the rotating camshaft and sensing the proximity of the spaced lobes to provide a pair of sensor output signals, and a processor circuit for analyzing the two sensor output signals and generating an ignition control signal upon the occurrence of the sensor output signals having values meeting relative predetermined criteria. One criterion requires that the two output signals be equal in magnitude. Another criterion may require that both output signals have magnitudes above a predetermined threshold.
Abstract: A food processing arrangement for mashing various food products to provide a food of the nature of West African fufu. The food processor has a base unit with a rotation producing structure. A mashing unit having a roller is removably mounted on the base unit and is driven by the rotation producing structure and a bowl is removably mounted on the base unit and the roller of the mashing unit is positioned in the food receiving cavity of the bowl. The roller has driving engagement with the inside surface of the bowl so that the roller rotates the bowl about the bowl axis as the roller rotates about the roller axis. Food in the food receiving cavity is mashed between the inside surface of the bowl and the outer surface of the roller. A scraper is provided to scrape food from the outside surface of the roller and the inside surface of the bowl and is positioned to direct the food so scraped to a predetermined location where the mashed food may be removed from the bowl.
Abstract: A plurality of single diaphragm cover dispensable assemblies (11) each of which has a stethoscope diaphragm cover (12) having a thin plastic body member (16) to which there is applied a pressure sensitive adhesive layer (26) mounted on an adhesive protective layer (14) on a first surface (30). A stacking pressure sensitive adhesive layer (34) is on the adhesive protective layer (14) in a location spaced from the portion (28B) attached to the cover (12). The stacking pressure sensitive adhesive layer 34 may be on the first surface (30) or the second surface (32) of the adhesive protective layer (14). A plurality of the assemblies (11) are in a stacked aligned array with the stacking pressure sensitive adhesive layers (34) providing the detachable coupling of one assembly (11) to the next assembly (11) in the stack.
Abstract: A rotary drill arrangement comprising a combination spade drill body having a rotational axis, a shank portion, and a generally planar spade cutter portion with a pair of oppositely directed cutting edges extending radially of the axis, and a rotatable frusto conical cutter mounted on the spade cutter portion adjacent the maximum radial extent of each cutting edge.
Abstract: A roof bolt bit arrangement comprising a combination spade drill body having a rotational axis, a shank portion, a generally planar spade cutter portion with a pair of oppositely directed cutting edges extending radially of the axis, and at least one rotatable frusto conical cutter mounted on the shank portion with its cutting edge in the path of the maximum radial extent of each spade cutter portion cutting edge.
