  • Patent number: 5975811
Abstract: An improved cutting insert cartridge arrangement for quick and easy mounting of cutting inserts to and removal from a rotary cutting tool, comprising a cutting insert receiver for the cutting insert, the insert receiver itself being quickly and easily removed from the rotary cutting tool body. The cutting insert receiver may have an outer end portion with an opening therein for receiving a cutting insert, the outer end portion being configurable to apply a varying lateral grasping force against an inserted cutting insert. The cutting insert receiver may be frusto conical in shape to mate with a complementary frusto conical recess in the rotary cutting tool body, whereby securing the receiver in the recess serves to apply the lateral grasping force against an inserted cutting insert due to the camming action between the mating surfaces of the two frusto conical members.

  • Patent number: 5957532
Abstract: An improved seating arrangement having a pair of rigid sides which include a back portion and a seat portion. Flexible webbing members extend between the rigid sides in the back and seat portions. Various arrangements are provided for increasing and decreasing the length and tension of the flexible webbing to provide a three dimensional variation in the contour of the flexible webbing in the back and/or seat portion.

  • Patent number: 5934582
Abstract: A food processing arrangement for mashing various food products to provide a food of the nature of West African fufu. The food processor has a base unit with an electrically powered motor rotating a drive train. A mashing unit having a roller is removably mounted on the base unit and is driven by the drive train and a bowl is removably mounted on the base unit and the roller of the masher unit is positioned in the food receiving cavity of the bowl. The roller has gear teeth which engage matching gear teeth on the inside surface of the bowl so that the roller rotates the bowl about the bowl axis as the roller rotates about the roller axis. Food in the food receiving cavity is mashed between the inside surface of the bowl and the outer surface of the roller. A scraper is provided to scrape food from the outside surface of the roller and the inside surface of the bowl and is positioned to direct the food so scraped to a predetermined location where the mashed food may be removed from the bowl.

  • Patent number: 5873423
Abstract: A frustum cutting bit arrangement, including a shank portion for mounting in, and to be retained by, a rotary cutting tool body, the shank portion having an axis, an inner axial end, and an outer axial end. A head portion has an axis coincident with the shank portion axis, a front axial end, and a rear axial end, the rear end coupled to the shank portion outer end, and the front end having a conical cavity therein diminishing in diameter from the front end toward the rear end. A frustum cutting insert has an axis coincident with the head portion axis, a forward axial end, a back axial end, and an outer conical surface diminishing in diameter from the forward end toward the back end, the conical cavity and the outer conical surface having substantially the same taper, the frustum cutting insert fitting into the cavity in a taper lock.

  • Patent number: 4313057
Abstract: An arrangement for detecting low concentrations of atoms. A gaseous sample containing the atoms to be detected is provided and the atoms have a plurality of energy levels with photon inducible transitions between a first energy level and a second level and collision inducible transitions between the second energy level and a third energy level. The atoms undergo spontaneous energy emitting transitions from the third energy level to either the first energy level or to a fourth energy level which is collision coupled to the first energy level. A beam of photons which may be generated, for example, by a laser, having photons with a wave length corresponding to the wave length separation between the first energy level and the second level is provided to irradiate the gaseous sample. A buffer gas is provided in order to collide with the atoms at the second energy level thereby inducing transitions to the third energy level.

  • Patent number: RE36373
Abstract: Process is described for reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide from fuel gas fired boilers by using a computer to closely control the flow rate of combustion air and by installing a duct to allow flue gas to recirculate into the air intake of the boiler. In most cases strict emission standards can be met without making any other mechanical modifications to the boiler. A computer controller maps burner characteristics and controls both a variable speed drive and the damper on the combustion air fan, and a damper on recirculated flue gas to meet emission requirements over the various firing rates while maintaining a stable flame free of pulsations. In some burners a simple cone structure placed in the burner provides additional flame stability.
