Abstract: A combined tailgate and ramp for a pickup truck. The tailgate can be removed from the truck and used as a loading ramp. As a ramp, one end of the tailgate is placed on the bumper or bed of the truck. The tailgate is laterally adjustable to form a ramp which accommodates the loading of vehicles having different track sizes or different wheel bases.
Abstract: Sublimation transfer apparatus of the type using a heated solid head which is adaptable to print on cylindrical objects of varying diameters and, yet, providing sufficient and uniform distribution of pressure is described. A solid head in which metal inserts matching the curvilinear surface of the head to permit the head to accept cylindrical objects of varying diameter is described. An apparatus which is usable on different size cylindrical objects by the mechanism of spring tension elements in cooperation with the solid head is described.
Abstract: A V-drive clutch assembly for a V-belt driven vehicle is described. The V-drive clutch assembly includes a fixed sheave plate for mounting on the drive shaft of the vehicle, a movable sheave plate assembly, a cam follower assembly, a neutral retainer coil spring under tension and a bearing plate. The weight arms of the cam follower assembly are disposed radially relative to the axis of the drive shaft. The clutch is characterized by cool running and light weight.
Abstract: A wet scrubber system for removing dust such as coal dust from the air. The system includes an impingement board and demister. The impingement board comprises a frame with flat strips of metal or plastic attached thereto. The strips are spaced apart to permit passage of an airstream. The demister comprises a first and second row of generally V-shaped members separated by an expanded metal screen. The V-shaped members are offset, spaced apart and tack welded, at their base, to the screen to form a generally Z-shaped pattern.
Abstract: A machine for making and harvesting blocks of ice which is totally automatic. The machine has an ice block forming ice chamber with a counter balanced hinged lid as the bottom wall of the chamber. A small amount of water is introduced into the lid which is frozen to form an ice seal between the bottom lid and the bottom flanged edge of the side walls of the chamber. The balance of the water according to the size of block ice is then introduced and frozen. The block is harvested by defrosting using a hot gas cycle to break the ice seal and defrost the side walls of the ice chamber. The ice block falls by gravity from the chamber onto a slide system. The hinged lid returns to the closed position and the machine restarts automatically to produce the next block of ice.
Abstract: A bending apparatus for metal pipe and tubing which includes an upright spindle assembly; a lower section mounted on the spindle assembly for rotational movement around the spindle, the lower section can be selectively moved around and engaged with the spindle assembly; an upper section which is rotatably mounted on the spindle assembly and removably connected to the lower section, the upper section includes a removable shoe bender; and a radius die positioned at the top of the spindle assembly and in pipe or tube engaging alignment with the shoe bender. The bending apparatus can be disassembled, and moved to a different work site, and reassembled by one person. The bending apparatus can bend pipe or tubing of one-half inch to two inch diameter and larger.
