Abstract: Auto loading gas operated firearm capable of handling a variety of ammunition loads having one or more gas relief valves for the initial volume of the gas cylinder of the firearm, the valves having a leaf spring covering the gas apertures to control the flow of gas from the initial volume of the gas cylinder, and a shaped geometric body interposed between the spring and each aperture that interacts with the spring and aperture to form a seal footprint which is a circular line or ring, the spring preferably operating in a plane substantially perpendicular to the recoil axis of the firearm.

Bearing sleeve (55) includes a bore (56) from one end to the other which includes a stepped portion (57) defining two spaced-apart shoulders (58), (59). Flange (42) of the two bearings (40) seat flush against the innermost surface of locking collars (52), (53). A flange edge (45) of each of the bearings (40) is positioned in bearing contact with the inner walls of bearing sleeve (55) defining bore (56) to provide a radial bearing surface. Shoulders (58) and (59) abut and bear against shoulder (44) of flange (42) of bearings (40) and provide a thrust bearing surface along the axial length of spindle (51).

Abstract: A method for the recovery of silver from photographic film having a polyester base and a macromolecular organic polymer coating to which is adhered a light sensitive silver emulsion layer. The process includes mixing small film pieces in a hot aqueous liquid having a solids concentration level of at least 25 percent by volume. The mixture is subjected to conditions of high shear to remove the silver emulsion. The liquid containing the silver emulsion is then separated from the film pieces and the silver is recovered from the liquid.
Abstract: A process for producing acrylic polymers at a high rate which have high thermal stability, are free of defects and have a low level of unreacted monomer by polymerization of a methyl methacrylate syrup in the presence of a mixture of three peroxide initiators.
