Patent number: 7852171Abstract: A microchip device is disclosed that combines a signal attenuator and a frequency filter. An embodiment of the device includes an input contact, an output contact, and a ground contact formed on the surface of a substrate. Resistive elements formed on the substrate interconnect the contacts. At least the input contact includes a gap pattern formed therein that is dimensioned and arranged such that the input contact provides a reactive impedance characteristic. The combination of the resistance of the resistive elements and the reactive impedance characteristic of the input contact are selected to provide attenuation and frequency filtering of a high frequency signal input to the microchip device. A method of manufacturing the filter-attenuator microchip device is also described.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2008Date of Patent: December 14, 2010Assignee: State of the Art, Inc.Inventors: Amitabh Das, Robert J. Patent number: 7837582Abstract: An assembly for maintaining tension in a drive belt features a housing mounted on a base. The housing contains a biasing element that exerts torque on the housing to bias the housing in a radial direction. A lever arm is connected to the housing and rotates with the housing in response to the bias of the biasing element. A pulley is connected to the lever arm and engages a drive belt in response to the bias force of the biasing element on the lever arm. The pulley deflects the shape of the belt to provide tension in the belt. In one embodiment, the apparatus allows the user to switch the position of the biasing element and alter the direction of torque on the lever arm. In another embodiment, the lever arm and pulley are removable from the housing and replaceable with other arms and pulleys having different configurations.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2003Date of Patent: November 23, 2010Assignee: Fenner, Inc.Inventors: Gary Smith, William McCotter, Thomas Hughes, Carl Cura

Patent number: 7835560Abstract: A method and system are provided to report the findings of an expert's analysis of image data. The method and system are based on a reporting system that forms the basis of an image management system that can efficiently and systematically generate image reports, facilitate data entry into searchable databases for data mining, and expedite billing and collections for the expert's services. The expert identifies a significant finding on an image and attaches a location:description code to the location of that finding in order to create a significant finding and an entry into a database. Further descriptions of that finding, such as dimensional measurements, may be automatically appended to the finding as secondary attributes. After the evaluation, the system sorts the findings in the database and presents the findings by prioritized categories. The expert edits and approves a multimedia report which may be delivered by electronic means to an end-user.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2007Date of Patent: November 16, 2010Assignee: Wake Forest University Health SciencesInventors: David J.
