Abstract: Laminations to be stacked as magnetic cores are produced from a very thin amorphous metal strip, using a punch press with accurate punch/die clearance. The laminations are collected on conveyor spindles or a transport rod or pipe, in either case being arranged without the need for substantial handling. Heat annealing and anti-vibration treatments can be applied along a conveying path. The laminations are grouped in a stack to define a core and are packaged or encapsulated in electrically nonconductive coverings. The finished core has advantageous electrical characteristics and low cost.

Abstract: When a cooperation game starts in a host game machine and a guest game machine that have been separately executed standalone games, present information (time and position of character) of the guest game machine is changed into one of the host game machine. During the cooperation game, present information of the guest game machine and the host game machine are renewed, being synchronized with each other. Then, player characters of the guest game machine and the host game machine are displayed on a display of each game machine, and each player plays the cooperation game together with the player character of the other game machine which is displayed on one's own game machine.
Abstract: A system and method for selecting callers on a communication device is disclosed. When a call is received from a caller, call history data are obtained from a call history database, and presented on a display. A user may then decide based on the call history whether to receive the call.

Abstract: A method for balancing loads among a plurality of data storage devices, includes: receiving a request from a user device to download a data file; identifying a first set of storage devices containing the requested data file, wherein the first set comprises one or more storage devices; identifying a first storage device from the set that is currently least busy among the storage devices in the first set, and directing the first storage device to serve the request; determining if the first storage device is too busy; and if the first storage device is too busy copying the requested data file to a second storage device which did not previously store the data file, thereby adding the second storage device to the first set of storage devices containing the requested data file.

Abstract: Apparatus is provided for mounting a pellicle to a photomask. A chamber has at least one port for filling the chamber with extreme clean dry air (XCDA) or an inert gas. A pellicle mounter is provided within the chamber. A vacuum ultra violet (VUV) light source is provided for irradiating a mask held by the pellicle mounter while the chamber is filled with the XCDA or inert gas. The mask is irradiated with the VUV light in an atmosphere of the XCDA or inert gas, and the pellicle is mounted to the mask while the mask is in the atmosphere of the XCDA or inert gas and exposed to the VUV light.
Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a plurality of base stations and a management server. Each base station includes: a carrier sensing unit which performs carrier sensing for other base stations; a list generating unit which generates a monitor list including a difference in frame timing between the base station and each other base station; and a base station transmitter which transmits the monitor list. The management server includes: a management receiver which receives the monitor lists; a calculation unit which calculates a shift amount by which the frame timing of a target base station is to be shifted, based on the monitor lists; and a shift instructing unit which instructs to shift the frame timing of the target base station by the shift amount if the differences in frame timing among the base stations when reflecting the shift amount is improved from those before reflecting the shift amount.

Abstract: A system for variable-sized resource block allocation in a communication system is disclosed. A processor module is configured to construct one or more resource blocks, having one or more sizes, and to define a candidate resource block set, including one or more of the constructed resource blocks, and a coherence bandwidth set, including one or more coherence bandwidths. A coherence bandwidth estimate is derived for a resource block subframe, and the one or more resource blocks in the resource block set are ranked, based on a comparison between the coherence bandwidth estimate and each of the one or more coherence bandwidths in the coherence bandwidth set. The highest ranked resource block is allocated for a data transmission to a user; and data is scheduled in accordance with a size of the allocated resource block. The allocated resource block size is indicated to one or more mobile stations in the communication system.

Abstract: A brushless motor including a stator having teeth and a rotor having magnetic pole portions is disclosed. The magnetic pole portions are arranged to have the same polarities as each other. The rotor includes gaps that function as magnetic resistance at circumferential ends of each of the magnetic pole portions so that an iron core portion is formed between the circumferentially adjacent magnetic pole portions. Magnetic flux of the magnetic pole portions passes through the iron core portion along the radial direction. The gaps include a first gap located on the leading end of the magnetic pole portion in the rotation direction of the rotor and a second gap located on the trailing end of the magnetic pole portion in the rotation direction of the rotor. The circumferential width of the first gap is set to be greater than the circumferential width of the second gap.
