  • Patent number: 7401325
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for a configurable JAVASERVER pages processing framework to process JAVASERVER pages (JSP). A JSP document or page is translated into a document object model (DOM) object that encapsulates elements of the JSP. The syntax of the JSP is validated by a JSP translator with built-in classes and errors are returned if necessary. A JSP visitor configuration file, which defines user configured classes and sequence of execution, is used by the JSP translator to invoke methods of user-defined classes in the order specified by the user to process or visit elements of the DOM object. Result of user-defined class processing may be passed from one class to another within the set.

  • Patent number: 7401141
Abstract: Method and system for performance monitoring of distributed applications. A sensor intercepts every request of service for a server that is generated on a client. If the request meets a filtering condition (for example, defined by the address of the server, the web page from which the request is originated and/or the selected link) the measuring of a corresponding transaction on the client is enabled; at the same time, the request is updated by inserting a correlator. The request is then transmitted to the server. If the request includes the correlator, the measuring of a sub-transaction originating from the request is also enabled on the server. The parameters measured on the client and on the server are then associated with the correlator.

  • Patent number: 7401186
Abstract: Method, system and computer program product for tracking changes in an L1 data cache directory. A method for tracking changes in an L1 data cache directory determines if data to be written to the L1 data cache is to be written to an address to be changed from an old address to a new address. If it is determined that the data to be written is to be written to an address to be changed, a determination is made if the data to be written is associated with the old address or the new address. If it is determined that the data is to be written to the new address, the data is allowed to be written to the new address following a prescribed delay after the address to be changed is changed. The method is preferably implemented in a system that provides a Store Queue (STQU) design that includes a Content Addressable Memory (CAM)-based store address tracking mechanism that includes early and late write CAM ports. The method eliminates time windows and the need for an extra copy of the L1 data cache directory.

  • Patent number: 7398325
Abstract: Compression of message headers. A message including an uncompressed header, a message including a compressed header or a request to support header compression is received. In response, a determination of the impact of header compression on performance is determined. If the determination is favorable, then header compression is supported for subsequent communications. However, if the determination is not favorable, then header compression is not supported for subsequent communications. If the impact of header compression on performance is determined to be favorable, then an identifier for a reference header is returned. The identifier is for use in a subsequent compressed header. The subsequent compressed header comprises the identifier and changes relative to the reference header. A server receives a message including a compressed header. The server determines whether it has sufficient memory or storage to support header compression.

  • Patent number: 7395376
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product are disclosed for reducing the number of unnecessarily broadcast local requests to reduce the latency to access data from remote nodes in an SMP computer system. A shared invalid cache coherency protocol state is declined that predicts whether a memory read request to read data in a shared cache line can be satisfied within a local node. When a cache line is in the shared invalid state, a valid copy of the data is predicted to be located in the local node. When a cache line is in the invalid state and not in the shared invalid state, a valid copy of the data is predicted to be located in one of the remote nodes. Memory read requests to read data in a cache line that is not currently in tile shared invalid state are broadcast first to remote nodes.
