  • Patent number: 5401132
Abstract: A screw grommet 1 which is capable of dealing with a change in the thickness of panel comprises a grommet member 3 and a holding member 2 to hold the grommet member. The holding member comprises a flange formed larger than a mounting hole of a panel 33 and a leg portion 4 which extends downward from the flange, is formed with, in its center, a space to receive the grommet member, and passes through the mounting hole of the panel so as to extend to the bottom side of the panel. The grommet member 3 comprises a head 17 which is fixed so as to be prevented from vertical movements when received in the leg portion of the holding member, a tubular portion 19 which is received vertically movably in the leg portion of the holding member and is formed with a hole for a tapping screw 5 to be screwed thereinto, and a pair of connection arms 20 which connect the tubular portion to the head and bend so as to project radially outwardly in mid portions 25 thereof when the tubular portion is brought closer to the head.

  • Patent number: 5393164
Abstract: Arc welded joint between a carrier such as aluminium sheet as one electrode and as the other electrode a metal component with a continuous recess into which a stud-like weld-in part is introduced, wherein the weld-in part consists of a shank and a head which is enlarged in relation to the shank diameter via a step, penetrates into the recess in the component resting on the carrier and can be pressed into the pool of melt formed on the carrier so that the pool of melt adjacent to the wall of the recess embraces the outer rim of the head and the step, the pool of melt directly connecting the component, at least in the region of the edge of the wall of the recess facing the carrier, directly to the adjacent carrier.

  • Patent number: 5388721
Abstract: Assembly tool for detaching and applying components lined up continuously and attached to a belt or tape at an assembly position in which one component after the other is successively separated from the tape and ejected, in which the tape is placed over an encircling continuous conveyor belt which positively engages the tape and entrains it with the advance of the conveyor belt, the conveyor passing together with the equipped tape through a driving-in region for gripping the tape prior to the assembly position and a driving-out region for carrying off the remaining tape after the assembly position and being deflected round the assembly position substantially in the form of a V at the assembly position.

  • Patent number: 5380133
Abstract: Drill bit of the twist drill type with turns which are held together by a drill center web and each issue in a radially extending cutting edge of which one extends to the bit axis and the other is shorter than it. This is characterized by the following features:a) the cutting edges (2,3) formed by continuos straight edges lie essentially in a plane coinciding with the bit axis (9),b) the cutting edges (2,3) form an obtuse angle (cutting angle), lying below 180.degree., of at least 175.degree.,c) the cutting edges (2,3;16) having a leading edge angle (K) of about 30.degree. with a rake angle (S.sub.1, S.sub.15) of about 30.degree. to 45.degree.,d) the diameter (D) of the drill center web (6) is at most half the bit diameter.

  • Patent number: 4442366
Abstract: A portable electric tool has a housing, an electric motor energized by a trigger-actuated switch, and a receptacle recessed in the housing. Terminals of the switch are formed as plug prongs which extend outwardly directly from the switch housing into the receptacle for receiving the female connector of a power supply cable. Preferably, a second set of plug prongs extend forwardly from the switch housing and receive a female connector of a motor cable. This arrangement enables wiring connections to the switch from the supply cable to be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4392101
Abstract: A method of fast charging batteries by means of precise analysis of the profile of the variation with time of a characteristic of the battery which is indicative of the variation in stored chemical energy as the battery is charged. The method specifically comprises analyzing the profile for the occurrence of a particular series of events preferably including one or more inflection points which precisely identify the point in time at which the application of a fast charge rate should be discontinued. Additional methods of analysis provide for termination or control of the charging current upon the occurrence of other events such as limiting values on time, voltage or voltage slope or a negative change in the level of stored energy.Apparatus for performing these methods comprises a suitable power supply and a microcomputer for analyzing the profile and controlling the power supply.
