  • Patent number: 5266779
Abstract: A fail safe temperature control device which consists of a nonelastic container or bulb adapted to be subjected to temperature changes, a capillary tube and a pressure responsive device. The container generally is located in the area in which the heat is to be controlled, typically an oven or other heated area. The capillary tube is connected to the container at a first end and to the pressure responsive device at a second end. The nonelastic container, capillary tube and pressure responsive device form a closed system which is filled with a thermally responsive material. The pressure responsive device operates a control device, typically consisting of a normally closed contact and a normally open contact.

  • Patent number: 5154379
Abstract: A detachable iron support suitable for use with an ironing board, table or the like comprising a frame, a plurality of support members and a belt attachment assembly. The frame is shaped correlatively to the face plate of an iron and the support members are shaped such that each support member has a straight segment located between two leg segments. Each straight segment has a centrally located depression. The frame and support members are mated at a position along the leg segments opposite the ends of the leg segments so that the frame is located above the straight segment and depression thereby creating an enclosure. The belt attachment assembly is comprised of a strap, a plurality of shaped plates and a fastening means. The mated frame and support members are attached to the belt attachment assembly by placing the depressions of the straight segments of the support members between the shaped plates and strap and affixing the shaped plates and strap by either permanent or semi-permanent means.

  • Patent number: 4968210
Abstract: A vehicle carrier which may be used to transport compact automobiles behind motorhomes or other suitable towing vehicles and consists of two primary substructures, a main frame and a trailer bed. The automobile which is to be transported can be loaded on to or unloaded from the carrier by a single person since it is not necessary for him to be inside or in close proximity to the vehicle, nor does he have to step down from the vehicle after it is loaded on to the vehicle carrier. The carrier can be easily moved or rolled by hand and also provides means to reduce the road shock and sway which may be transferred from a vehicle carrier to a towing vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4965992
Abstract: A device for removing unwanted vegetation consisting of a pole with a pair of cutting members on one end and two control handles on the other end. In use, the end with the cutting members is pulled through the vegetation and as the device moves, the offending vegetation is cut off by the cutting action produced by the pulling movement. If, during the cutting, the unwanted vegetation is found to be supple and yielding, a first handle is depressed. This brings the cutting members closer together and causes the supple vegetation to be sheared off. On the other hand, if, during the cutting, the unwanted vegetation pulls out of the ground and becomes lodged in the device, a second handle is depressed. This permits the cutting members to rotate away from each other thereby releasing the unwanted vegetation from the device.

  • Patent number: 4867366
Abstract: A pneumatically operated fastener-driving tool, particularly adapted for nailing drywall to the framing of a building, comprising a housing, a reciprocator assembly mounted within the housing, and a piston mechanism mounted within the reciprocator assembly for axially driving the fastener into the drywall and underlying framing member. Upon actuation of the tool, the piston is pneumatically driven through a fastener-driving stroke and the reciprocator is reactively driven in an opposite direction. The oppositely driven reciprocator assembly absorbs recoil energy during the piston's driving stroke without transmitting an appreciable amount thereof to the housing, thereby substantially precluding housing recoil during driving of the fastener. At the end of the driving stroke, the reciprocator engages and is decelerated by the piston, thereby reducing housing recoil subsequent to the driving of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 4705008
Abstract: A fuel supply system for internal combustion engines whereby a liquid hydrocarbon fuel is supplied to an enclosed pressure chamber, and wherein the chamber the liquid fuel is heated to within temperature limit of 95% plus or minus 5% of that said fuel's refined distillation end point. At that temperature high vapor pressure exists within the enclosed compression chamber. The resulting vapor is conveyed to the carburetor venturi system and combustion chamber in true vaporous state by means through a cooperating system of primary and secondary pressure reducing regulators. Attached onto the interior wall of the compression chamber is a liquid fuel dispensing pump, which maintains a constant fuel level within that chamber. Energy to operate the pump is derived from surrounding pressure within the compression chamber.
