Abstract: A fuel supply system for internal combustion engines whereby a liquid hydrocarbon fuel is supplied to an enclosed pressure chamber, and wherein the chamber the liquid fuel is heated to within temperature limit of 95% plus or minus 5% of that said fuel's refined distillation end point. At that temperature high vapor pressure exists within the enclosed compression chamber. The resulting vapor is conveyed to the carburetor venturi system and combustion chamber in true vaporous state by means through a cooperating system of primary and secondary pressure reducing regulators. Attached onto the interior wall of the compression chamber is a liquid fuel dispensing pump, which maintains a constant fuel level within that chamber. Energy to operate the pump is derived from surrounding pressure within the compression chamber.
Abstract: This invention relates generally to apparatus wherein a change in temperature is transmitted from a sensing bulb through a capillary to a control device. More particularly this invention is related to a novel, fail safe device for use in conjunction with a temperature sensing bulb, capillary, and control device in an oven or other heating appliance.

Abstract: A pneumatically operated fastener-driving tool, particularly adapted for nailing drywall to the framing of a building, includes a housing, a reciprocator assembly mounted within the housing, and a piston mechanism mounted within the reciprocating assembly for axially driving the fastener into the drywall and underlying framing member. Upon actuation of the tool, the piston is pneumatically driven through a fastener-driving stroke and the reciprocator is reactively driven in an opposite direction. The oppositely driven reciprocator assembly absorbs recoil energy during the piston's driving stroke without transmitting an appreciable amount thereof to the housing, thereby substantially precluding housing recoil during driving of the fastener. At the end of the driving stroke, the reciprocator engages and is decelerated by the piston, thereby reducing housing recoil subsequent to the driving of the fastener.
Abstract: This invention relates generally to thermal control apparatus wherein a change in temperature is transmitted from a sensing bulb through a capillary to a control device. More particularly this invention is related to a novel, fail-safe control device for use in conjunction with a temperature sensing bulb, capillary, and control device in an oven or other heating facility whereby a loss of pressure within the bulb, capillary, control device system will cause the heating device to be shut off and thus will prevent the oven or other heating facility from being overheated.
Abstract: This invention is a reusable apparatus and method of using the apparatus for supporting decking and forms used in constructing a bridge, roadway or other elevated surface. The apparatus is easily attached to the load bearing beams and is readily adjustable to proper grade without the necessity of shims.
Abstract: A flanged trough is provided having flanges along each side of the trough with a smooth continuous curve between the flanges and the body of the trough and a bar of metal welded along the underside of each longitudinal edge of the metal sheet before the flanges are formed. The junction between the metal bars and the flanges and the welds can be covered with a sealant to form a sanitary seal. A lid and gasket can be placed over the trough to seal the contact area of material in the trough from the junction between the metal bars and the flanges of the trough to form a weather-tight, dust-tight and gas-tight conduit.

Abstract: This invention relates to an improved method for the catalyzed condensation of aldehydes in the liquid phase to form 1,3-glycol monoesters utilizing tin metal or a tin oxide catalyst. Condensation can be visualized as an aldol condensation followed by a Tischenko reaction between the aldol and a third molecule of aldehyde. In its simplest form the condensation can be illustrated by the following general formula ##STR1## R or R.sup.1 =Hydrogen or alkyl group of 1 to 20 carbon atoms or aromatic groups. R and R.sup.1 can also be part of a cyclic system.
Abstract: A process for the production of a carboxylic acid by the reaction of a liquid lower alkanol with carbon monoxide at a temperature of from about 150.degree. C. to about 250.degree. C. and a carbon monoxide pressure of from about 2,000 psig to about 10,000 psig in the presence of a soluble liquid phase catalyst prepared from the following ingredients: (1) MX.sub.n wherein M is selected from the group consisting of Co and Ni, X is selected from the group consisting of carboxylate anions of from 2 to 10 carbon atoms, halides, oxides, acetyl acetonate, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen; and n is from 1 to 5; (2) R.sub.3 P wherein R is alkyl, aryl, or alkylaryl of from 4 to 10 carbon atoms; and (3) hydrogen iodide or an iodide source such as iodine, alkyl iodides and alkali metal or alkaline earth iodides.
Abstract: Rhodium hydroformylation catalysts are regenerated by a novel process which includes the steps of removing the catalyst to be regenerated from the hydroformylation reaction, adjusting the aldehyde contents of the catalyst containing stream so as to have at least one mole of aldehyde present per mole of rhodium and ligand present in the catalyst, treating the aldehyde containing catalyst stream with oxygen or oxygen containing gas at a temperature less than the boiling point of the aldehyde, removing any solid material formed during the oxidation and adjusting the ligand to rhodium ratio as required for use in the hydroformylation reaction.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for improving the capacity of an electrochemical production unit used for removal of hexavalent chromium from aqueous medium by controlling the pH of the aqueous medium fed to the electrochemical unit.
Abstract: The invention relates to bichromophoric heterocyclic ester compounds which have been found to be effective ultraviolet stabilizers. The invention also relates to ultraviolet degradable organic compositions containing a stabilizing amount of these bichromophoric heterocyclic ester compositions to prevent such degradation. These stabilizers are effective in the presence of other additives commonly employed in polymeric compositions including, for example, pigments, colorants, fillers, reinforcing agents and the like. These ultraviolet stabilizers may also be incorporated into the organic compositions in the polymer melt or dissolved in the polymer dope, coated on the exterior of the molded article, film or extruded fiber.
