Abstract: This light modifier assembly is a continuous light source for still and video imagemakers. More specifically, the continuous light source provides a constant light source for still, digital, video or high definition image capture. In a preferred embodiment, the light source comprises a multiplicity of lamps with a control configured to run multiple combinations of lamps together with no shift in color temperature and to set up multiple lighting ratios.
Abstract: A cutting head assembly for use in cutting plate glass has a simplified drive train, all positioned about the vertical rotational centerline. The drive train includes a hollow bore drive motor having a drive adaptor directly engaged with a spline shaft that extends through the hollow bore. The lower end of the spline shaft is directly engaged with a cutting tool holder for retaining a cutting tool. The drive motor imparts rotational movement to the cutting tool through the spline shaft and the cylinder imparts vertical movement to the cutting tool by vertical movement of the spline shaft.
Abstract: This system relates to a secure encryption/decryption protocol for elevator displays and controls. The protocol uses an algorithm to scramble information before transmission and reassemble it after transmission. The system uses at least one block of data assembled into unencrypted N-bits of information. An encryption device encodes the data into at least one block of encrypted M-bits of information. A data encryption mask provides an encryption routine which also includes scrambling the data.
Abstract: A method is provided for improving high temperature performance grade properties of polymer-modified, vulcanized asphalt by treating an asphalt cement under mild oxidizing conditions sufficient to provide a change in viscosity per hour as measured at 140° C. of less than about 500 poises per hour, of said asphalt cement, adding 1 wt. % to 10 wt. % of a polymer based on weight of said asphalt cement, and vulcanizing the polymer-containing asphalt cement. The invention further relates to asphalt compositions thus made and paving compositions containing these asphalt compositions.

Abstract: A replaceable locking and securing device for securing a first member to a second member includes a replaceable bracket, a lock and a fastener. The bracket defines one opening when the bracket is operatively connected to the first member.
Abstract: This drop tube loading arm assembly is adaptable for loading asphalt into tank trailers at marketing terminals. The telescoping drop tube employs guides made of steel rollers of polymers such as fluorocarbon polymers and aluminum. The guides are located in the annular space between the tubes in combination with increased radial clearance between the tubes or sleeves and in combination with protection for the overfill probe. With the addition of vapor control systems and overfill protection probes, the telescoping drop loading spouts are less susceptible to cold weather sticking problems.

Abstract: A method for determining the variations in the sulfur content of ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel when it is transported through a petroleum transportation system includes sampling fuels at various points during barge transport, pipeline transport and in terminaling operations. New procedures and special handling regiments are developed in view of how the sulfur content of ultra-low sulfur fuel may change when transported through the system in sequence and stored with other petroleum products.

Abstract: A table includes a first table top section and a second table top section A magnet is positioned on the first table top section and a lock block is positioned on the opposing second table top section. The opposing first and second table top sections are magnetically locked together to form the table.
Abstract: The present invention provides a way to increase the softening point of heavier hydrocarbons in a relatively low cost and low pressure process using superheated steam to i) increase the carbon yield of the heavier hydrocarbons, while simultaneously ii) removing volatile components with a steam stripping process.

Abstract: Device for forming of at least one groove (92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98) in a friction layer (91) of a covered disk (90) for a force transmission aggregate, in particular for a disk clutch, with a rolling device (1, 11, 21, 31) with at least one roller flange (7, 17, 27a . . . 27f, 37a . . . 37c) for rolling in the at least one groove (92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98).
Abstract: A medical assist device relocates patients from a first support such as a bed to a second support such as a chair or wheelchair. Upon location of the assist device to a position adjacent such first support, the patient may stand on a rotatable platform of the assist device. Upon actuation of the motor, preferably by a remote controller, the platform is caused to slowly rotate through a desired angular path to position the patient adjacent the second support. A steadying structure is provided for gripping by the patient. Under one embodiment, the steadying structure is designed to be collapsible. Mounted on a frame with the rotatable platform is a seat and wheels for moving a patient across a room or from room to room.

Abstract: An article is coated with a multi-layer coating having the appearance of brass, nickel and stainless steel. The coating comprises a nickel or polymer base coat on the surface of said article, a chromium layer and vapor deposited on the chromium layer, a refractory metal nitride or nitride and oxide, or refractory metal alloy nitride or nitride and oxide that mimic the colors of brass, nickel and stainless steel. An oxide-containing strike layer comprised of nano-sized refractory metal crystals and/or preferentially oriented refractory metal phase with the refractory oxide for precipitation hardening. A refractory oxide layer intermediate the refractory metal strike layer and the stack layer comprised of alternative layers of refractory metal, substoichiometric refractory nitride and stoichiometric refractory nitride. This intermediate oxide layer acts as a non-conductive barrier to improve corrosion and pitting resistance.
Abstract: This interface is an apparatus for controlling a power supply delivering power to a DC powered tool. The interface is connected between the DC power supply and the DC tool wherein the interface is configured to read signals from the tool and control the power supplied by allowing the power supply to run, brake, reverse or jog the tool. A microprocessor is connected to the interface programmed to provide a specific power in response to the signals from the tool read by the interface. The interface includes a number of field effect transistors. They are PFET1, PFET2, NFET1, and NFET2.
Abstract: A tool support for fixed or rotating tools embodied with a collet chuck receiver for a collet chuck for clamping a tool shaft from the direction of the tool side. The collet chuck receiver has a tapering bore for receiving a collet chuck and a coaxial screw thread assigned to the bore for receiving a tensioning nut. In place of a collet chuck, a tool clamping insert is inserted with a tapering receiving neck into the tapering receiving bore, wherein the tool clamping insert is clamped in place by fastening means from the direction of the tool side.

Abstract: A bow holder for holding an archery bow when the bow is not being used while hunting. This base can be used on multiple type tree stands either vertically or horizontally depending on the tree stand used. The connection between the main base parts and wire holder allows a 360-degree pivot of the holder, which makes the bow more accessible for the hunter. The holder secures the bow from falling or being knocked off or out of its holder, but the bow holder also allows the bow to be easily taken by the hunter by simply tilting the bow toward the hunter and lifting the bow out of the holder.
Abstract: An inner metal link bushing is formed by providing flat steel stock having a chamfered edge disposed at an angle relative to the surfaces such that, when the flat stock is reshaped to a tubular formation, the edges forming a longitudinal seam will initially contact one another at the outer surfaces thereof leaving slight gap between such edges in the area adjacent the inner surface. The tubular formation is placed in a die having a rigid interior wall surface in close relationship with the outer surface of the tubular formation and a mandrel is positioned inside the tubular formation in slightly spaced relationship therewith. Presses impose compressive forces on the opposing ends of the tubular formation sufficient to squeeze the ends of the tubular formation toward one another and to cause the inner and outer surfaces of the tubular formation to be homogeneously plastically deformed into firm contact respectively with the inner surface of the partible die and the outer surface of the mandrel.
