  • Patent number: 6843951
Abstract: The method of making a dental device or the like which involves starting with a pattern of the device to be made, closely surrounding that pattern with a settable material to form a unit with the pattern, separating the unit and removing the pattern therefrom, filling the thus produced space with settable material of the type desired for the ultimate device, setting that material and removing the set material constituting the device to be made, and in particular utilizing a retention device to enclose the settable materials and other contents. The process is particularly useful when the device is to be made of a light-sensitive material, in which case the retention device and the first-used settable material are light-transmissive and the retention device preferably focuses light on the material to be set.

  • Patent number: 6836934
Abstract: As from a conventional semi-hinge fixed to the frame, a complementary door fixing semi-hinge having, emerging perpendicularly from its base plate (1), a slide (3) destined to be housed in a blind hole on the door edge, a slide which is closed by its free end by means of a lid (12) and having a pair of opposite longitudinal guides (4), in which respective sets of balls have been fitted for the sliding of a runner (8), provided with complementary guides (4?) for the mentioned set of balls and which is an elbowed extension of an arm (9) finishing in the bushing (10) or hinge itself, across which this semi-hinge is articulated to the semi-hinge fixed to the frame. Complementarily, slide (3) and runner (8) define a cylindrical housing (5-5?) in which a spring (7) is housed, which in the case of the upper hinge tends to press the leaf against the frame and in the case of the lower hinge, tends to separate these components.

  • Patent number: 6834568
Abstract: A strap wrench comprising a handle with a central channel and detachable strap anchored at one end of the handle. The strap is held in place in a channel by means of a rocker arm which is biased to press the strap against a portion the strap positioned in the channel. The strap is initially positioned in the channel by the user pressing one side of the rocker arm to open the channel. Once the strap is initially seated, the rocker arm may be released and the loop may be further tightened by pulling the strap through the channel. Free movement of the strap may be enhanced by applying pressure to the rocker arm.

  • Patent number: 6834817
Abstract: A device for comminuting material comprising first and second mating sections. The mating sections when mated form an enclosed interior chamber with the first and second sections capable of movement relative to each other. The first mating section has a first set of a plurality of pins, which extend from a base of the first mating section and into the interior of the chamber. Similarly, the second mating section has a second set of a plurality of pins extending from a base of the second mating section and into the interior of the chamber. The pins from the first mating section interdigitate with the second set of a plurality of pins when the first and second mating sections are mated, wherein movement of the first and second mating sections relative to one another causes comminution of the material when placed in the chamber. The pins have varying cross-sectional shapes including circular, triangular, and hexagonal.

  • Patent number: 6809710
Abstract: A circuit is disclosed for driving an OLED in a graphics display. The circuit employs a current source operating in a switched mode. The output of the current source is connected to a terminal of the OLED. The current source is responsive to a combination of a selectively set cyclical voltage signal and a cyclical variable amplitude voltage signal. The current source, when switched on, is designed and optimized to supply the OLED with the amount of current necessary for the OLED to achieve maximum luminance. When switched off, the current source blocks the supply of current to the OLED, providing a uniform black level for an OLED display. The apparent luminance of the OLED is controlled by modulating the pulse width of the current supplied to the OLED, thus varying the length of time during which current is supplied to the OLED.

  • Patent number: 6773105
Abstract: The eyeglasses frame is provided with spaced, oppositely extending, coplanar recesses. The lens sections of the sunglasses are provided with first and second oppositely directed collinear protrusions. An enclosed spring bridge mechanism moveably connects the lens sections. The spring bridge mechanism permits the lens sections to be moved toward each other, compressing the spring, to insert the protrusions into the recesses. The spring urges the lens sections away from each other, seating the protrusions into the recesses, to mount the sunglasses on the eyeglasses frame.

  • Patent number: 6755386
Abstract: A marker having three parts: an annular, enveloping body that is fixed in the location of the mold; and an equally annular intermediate body that is rotatably mounted inside intermediate body and which can rotate relative to the body. Each of these three parts is provided with a signal. Two narrow annular locations are disposed in the area of the marker opposite the operative front, where a helical spring ending in a lug is placed in each of the locations. The lug of the outer spring is the single actuation control of the marker while the lug of the inner spring exhibits play in a small location of the intermediate body. Both springs are oppositely coiled in such a way that strangling of one of the springs takes place simultaneously while the other spring is being released.
