Abstract: A system and method for the automated discovery of advertisement decision services and advertisement management services employs an advertisement application server which receives the address of an advertisement management service from an IPTV Controller during the registration phase. The advertisement application server then begins the configuration process by informing the advertisement decision server of the availability of a new advertisement management service. Additionally, an OITF having an embedded ADM makes use of markers in a received content stream to identify the location at which an advertisement is to be inserted, requests and receives advertisements from an ADS, and renders a video stream based on the received content and the received advertisement.
Abstract: A method for measuring a load capacity in a management system comprises: receiving an indication of a number of data connections through an input; and computing a current load capacity by multiplying the number of data connections with a time period during which the current load capacity is to be computed. A system for carrying out the method comprises an input for receiving the indication and a processor for computing the current load capacity by multiplying the number of data connections with the time period.
Abstract: Systems and methods according to these exemplary embodiments provide for selectively transmitting a pre-registration, re-registration or de-registration initiation message associated with handing off user equipment between different access systems, e.g., a long term evolution (LTE) system and a high rate packet data (HRPD) system, to reduce dormant sessions. The decision to selectively transmit initiation messages is typically performed by a dormant session management function (DSMF).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and network node for uploading media content from a user device to at least one network entity. The method comprises the step of associating a code with the at least one network entity, in a network node. The method further comprises the step of sending an address book object from the network node to the user device, said address book object comprising the code and said address book object being usable for sending a multimedia message to the network node from the user device. The method further comprise the step of receiving, in the network node, the multimedia message from the user device, said multimedia message containing the code and the media content. The method further comprise the step of updating, from the network node, the at least one network entity associated with the code with the media content.
Abstract: Systems and methods according to these exemplary embodiments provide for dynamically scalable switching fabrics. A dynamically scalable switching fabric can include a first set of fabric element (FE) interfaces and a second set of FE interfaces, interconnectable by a reconfigurable crossbar. By selectively populating the FE interfaces, different switching capabilities, e.g., bandwidth per processor blade and/or number of processor blades supported, can be achieved. When the population of the FE interfaces is modified, the reconfigurable crossbar can reconfigure the links between FEs. According to one embodiment, a three-stage CLOS architecture can be implemented. According to another embodiment, a multi-plane architecture can be implemented.

Abstract: Methods, a client node and a key server node are provided for distributing from the key server node, and acquiring at the client node, self-healing encryption keys. The client node and the key server node are part of a key distribution network that comprises a plurality of client nodes. An encryption key is obtained from a combination of a forward key with a backward key, wherein the backward key is distributed at a time separated from the time of the forward key by a self-healing period. The forward and backward keys are updated in a multicast rekey message, at a given time, encrypted by an encryption key defined for a previous time. Optionally, when a sibling of the client node joins or leaves the key distribution network, a unicast rekey message is used to renew the forward and backward keys at the client node.
Abstract: A method and nodes provide self-healing encryption keys from a server to a client. Forward keys and backward keys are generated at the server. The server sends to the client a pair comprising a forward key for a first instant and a backward key for a later instant, the first and later instants being separated by a self-healing period. The client calculates a backward key for the first instant by processing the received backward key for the later instant. The server updates the keys to the client. If the client misses an update, it processes the first forward key to obtain a next one. If the client misses an updated backward key within the self-healing period, it uses the already processed backward key. If the client misses a later backward key, it sends a feedback to the server, responsive to which the server adjusts the self-healing period.
Abstract: Systems, methods and communication nodes according to exemplary embodiments provide for an IMS node to replicate call content for lawful call interception in packet cable networks. A CSCF node sends a command to an SBC node to perform call content replication for an identified call to be intercepted. The SBC node forwards the replicated call content to a delivery function, which in turn forwards the replicated call content to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
Abstract: A method and a router having a plurality of blades comprising at least a first blade and a second blade. The router comprises an interconnect providing a plurality of channels, each of which being used between two of the blades. The first blade receives a packet addressed to exit the router via the second blade, segments the packets into at least two fragments and forwards each fragment to at least two different blades, each via one of the interconnect's channels. The interconnect may be an optical interconnect by which a single wavelength from one blade defines one of the plurality of channels and wherein each blade supports a plurality of wavelengths. The at least two different blades may comprise each blade of the router, except the first blade. Each of the plurality of channels may also be a dedicated channel between two of the blades.
Abstract: A method and a gateway are provided for controlling delivery of event information to users sharing a user device. The gateway is informed of activity states of each user sharing a same user device. Events related to services used by the users are detected by the gateway. Because some users of a same device may be active while others are inactive, the gateway verifies the activity state of each user for whom an event is detected. Active users are informed of events that are of interest for them.
Abstract: A method and nodes are provided for registering a terminal. The terminal is capable of connecting in two distinct networks. The registration process for the terminal maps an identity and traffic handling policies of the terminal in a first network with an address prefix of the terminal obtained from the second network. The address prefix is obtained from the second network following authorization of the terminal in the first network. As traffic is exchanged between the terminal and a correspondent node while the terminal is accessing the second network, the mapping is used to ensure that policies for the terminal in the first network are applied in the second network.
Abstract: Fluid-cooling technology developed for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronics assemblies is combined with optical-based interconnect technology, thereby enabling efficient fabrication of PCBs with free-space optical bearers. Since cooling components such as fans and heat sinks are no longer required on the PCB, the PCB is thinner and makes better use of a cooling substrate by also using it to carry optical signals. A card or a backplane supporting a plurality of active components can combine optical signals and cooling aspects in support of those components.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described which provide communication between a correspondent node and a mobile node including receiving a home prefix of the mobile node and a list of correspondent nodes by a mobile access gateway having an access link with the mobile node and submitting proxy binding update messages by the mobile access gateway to a home agent corresponding to the mobile node and to each of the correspondent nodes in the list.
Abstract: A method and an antenna array system are provided for estimating parameters of radio signals impinging on antenna arrays, for estimating angular parameters, for estimating angular distribution types, and for selecting types of antenna array processing. Models of angular distribution types are used to populate look-up tables. Correlation magnitudes and correlation phases of signals impinging on antenna elements of antenna arrays are used as pointers to obtain values of parameters from the look up tables. The obtained values may be compared to some value ranges in order to select appropriate antenna array processing types. Where the angular distribution type is unknown, several values representing angular parameters may be obtained from look-up tables representing various models, and a variance of the angular parameter values for each model may be calculated.
Abstract: Software, systems and methods are described which provide cache management capabilities. The number of cache sets to be used in each partition of the cache memory space is based on a number of cache pages in each partition and an associativity level associated with the set associative cache. The cache sets can be numbered based on the partition number, a total number of partitions and a cache page index. Cache management according to these exemplary embodiments reduces problems associated with cache trashing in multiprocessor environments sharing common data structures in set associative caches.
Abstract: A method and nodes are provided for localizing traffic between communication nodes receiving service from a same network. A local mobility anchor informs media access gateways providing access to two communication nodes of each other's addresses. Traffic exchanged between the two communication nodes connected to the same network via these media access gateways are routed directly between the gateways, bypassing the local mobility anchor.
Abstract: A resource admission control entity and method in an administrative domain (AD). The AD has a topology view that comprises link capacity and link usage information. The resource admission control entity receives a request intended for a user to obtain a multicast content, derives a list of links to be newly used by the multicast content based on the request and verifies if the multicast content can be admitted on the links to be newly used by the multicast content based on the topology view thereby providing an admittance verification result. If the admittance verification result is positive, the admission control module updates usage values in the topology view for the links to be newly used by the multicast content.
Abstract: Methods and nodes are provided for efficiently establishing a route between a mobile node and a correspondent node in a Proxy Mobile Internet Protocol network. A return routability procedure is used between a local mobility anchor and a media access gateway on one hand, and the correspondent node on the other hand. The procedure is made without involvement from the mobile node. The procedure is such that the correspondent node handles return routability as per standard mobile IP mechanisms. Following this return routability procedure, a binding of an address of the mobile node with an address of the media access gateway is stored in the correspondent node. This binding allows data traffic to flow between the mobile node and the correspondent node without passing through the local mobility anchor.
Abstract: Methods and systems for resuming, transferring or copying an IMS session associated with a first terminal or user at a second terminal in e.g., a same household are described. If a session is to be transferred, resource reservations associated with establishing a second IMS session for the transfer can be bypassed by informing the IMS system, either explicitly or implicitly, of the relationship between the terminals involved in the transfer. A controller can select a content server to support the resumed session and coordinate session identities associated with the selection.
