Abstract: The specification describes an oxidation and adsorption method for removing contaminating materials (pollutants) from aqueous liquids. The liquids are first subjected to an electrochemical treatment for the purpose of coagulation or agglomeration and partial oxidation by addition of NaOCl. Following this, using sedimentation and/or flotation, the agglomerated and coalesced sludge is removed from the liquid. In the liquid an excess of OCl.sup.- remains and this liquid, enriched in this manner, is supplied to adsorption columns, in which inorganic adsorption compositions are located having a high specific surface area so that a further oxidation is achieved by the excess OCl.sup.-, together with a partial adsorption and by addition of O.sub.3, complete oxidation is achieved. The organic contaminating materials are converted into CO.sub.2 products of adsorbing materials of different grain sizes and specific surface areas made of inorganic materials, following which the CO.sub.
Abstract: A weather protection system for a road vehicle has windows, including a wind screen pane and a rear window pane, and comprises at least two protector parts which are detachably connected to the vehicle, are composed of flexible material, extend at least over the vehicle windows, and are disposed near each other in the region of the windscreen pane and the rear window pane.
Abstract: The specification describes a method for removing pathogenic germs and dissolved organic substances from liquids. Kefir milk acid bacteria in the form of a centrifugate, obtained from washing-out Kefir mold cultures are added to the liquid after suitable electrochemical precleaning. The liquid mixed with the bacteria is passed over a cylindrical column, whose filling bodies consist of cylindrically shaped fabric of antimagnetic stainless steel with a large surface. On this the microorganisms of the Kefir group become deposited, from a biological lawn and in the case of the supply of atmospheric oxygen and multiple passage of the liquid through the column the organic liquid contaminating materials finally take up the pathogenic germs as nutrient material so that owing to the microbiological processes of the Kefir bacteria the liquids are freed from these materials.
Abstract: A process of obtaining digital data for color components of a color image includes the steps of quantizing color-processor derived signals to obtain first and second raster signal scans, wherein each of the raster signal scans has a multiplicity of raster spots spaced apart from one another at first and second predetermined distances. The first and second distances of the first raster signal scan correspond substantially to the second and first distances of the second raster signal scan, respectively. Only the raster signal scans corresponding to the color-processor obtained signals in the first and second memory segments, respectively, are stored.
Abstract: A fuse-element for electric fuses is shaped as a metal strip with one or more zones of diminished cross-section.The temperature rise conditions of the fuse-element and of its zones of diminished cross-section can be established and evaluated in combination and--based on these data--a fuse-element can be designed the temperature distribution characteristics of which include different local peak values and the spots where such peak values develop can be set in a manner that the whole fuse-element consists of two parts as far as the temperature distribution is concerned, i.e. a first part where this distribution is in accordance with a steady state distribution (the highest current value still failing to cause any melting), and a second part where the temperature rise distribution determines the character of the melting process, this being the so-called transient distribution characteristic.

Abstract: A triple-hulled sailing vessel has a mast on its center hull. The lower end of the mast is pivotally connected to the center hull and a rigid transverse brace is connected to the central hull so that it pivots as the mast pivots; the outer ends of the brace are pivoted to the respective flanking hulls. Links are pivoted to the flanking hulls; these links extend upwardly towards the mast and are pivoted to a connecting member which is secured to it; the pivot axes being located adjacent to, but at opposite sides of the mast. Springs are interposed in these links and also in the brace; in the latter they are provided at locations intermediate the center hull and the flanking hulls. This construction increases the self-righting ability of the vessel under the heeling influence of wind, making the structure stable throughout its heelable range.
