Abstract: A lens system for a camera comprises a pair of axially shiftable components for varying the focal length, coupled with a cylindrical zoom-control member, and a further axially shiftable component for changing the object distance, coupled with a cylindrical focusing-control member. An operating tube coaxial with the two control members engages the zoom-control member for rotating same, the focusing-control member being releasably entrainable by the zoom-control member between a limiting macro-range position and a close-up position through a deactivable coupling which may include two coacting lugs on these members or a pawl on the zoom-control member retractable by an axial shift of the operating tube. A toothed detent ring, nonrotatable but axially slidable, is also movable by that tube into engagement with the focusing-control member for arresting same against the force of a biasing spring urging that member into its limiting macro-range position.

Abstract: A dyestuff applicator, located inside a cylindrical printing screen, comprises a horizontal tube which supports an axially extending dyestuff-distributing member immediately overlying the inner screen surface. The distributing member, or at least a membrane-shaped bottom thereof, is under pressure of the liquid dyestuff supplied to the tube at a superatmospheric pressure equivalent to a head of at least 1000 mm water. To insure full effectiveness of this pressure over the length of an outlet zone in the bottom of the distributing member, the body of liquid overlying that zone within the applicator should have a cross-section exceeding in at least one dimension 1.5% of the length of a flow path as measured from a point of entry of the dyestuff into the space containing that body of liquid.

Abstract: A photoelectric display device having an electrically controlled optical means for indicating one of the 7 days of the week by means of a combination of two letters selected from alphabetical letters is disclosed. The device comprises a first display element composed of a plurality of segments arranged in such pattern that all of the letters positioned in the first place of the seven combinations expressing the 7 days of the week can be indicated, and a second display element composed of a plurality of segments arranged in such pattern that all of the letters positioned in the second place of the above mentioned seven combinations can be indicated. Each segment of each of the display elements is electrically controlled to indicate any desired days of the week.

Abstract: A synchronized induction motor, designed to drive a turntable of a record player, has a stator with two pole pairs spaced 90.degree. apart and a rotor with a short-circuited cylindrical body inductively entrainable by the alternating stator field. The rotor body is provided at one end with a magnetic ring peripherally subdivided into eight magnet poles spaced 45.degree. apart, these poles coacting with an armature on the stator forming two pole shoes jointly magnetizable with one stator pole pair, in line therewith, and two pairs of pole shoes jointly magnetizable with the other stator pole pair, disposed midway between the stator poles. The inductive torque exerted upon the rotor with a 50% lag of the rotor is insufficient to cause further acceleration whereby the rotor is driven synchronously by the coacting pole shoes and magnet poles.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for extracting part of the recoil energy of a weapon utilizing a barrel-braking- and counter-recoil system. A piston moving in a hydraulic cylinder is attached to a barrel; a storage-cylinder compresses a fluid during the recoil of the barrel, the fluid's stored energy being made use of during the counter-recoil movement of the barrel for actuating an auxiliary mechanism.

Abstract: To excite a liquid-crystal display element, a square wave is applied to opposite electrodes of that element by a source of alternating voltage through a switching circuit which briefly short-circuits the display element, during every change of polarity of the voltage source, by connecting both electrodes to the same potential via a low-impedance path. As the display element discharges over that path, the source is open-circuited whereby energy consumption is reduced.

Abstract: A process for producing resin-coated sand particles for use in shell moles wherein a phenolformaldehyde resin in an initial stage of condensation is sprayed into a hot zone to form droplets which gravitationally descend to a cold zone and solidify. The particles are mixed with sand, heated to a temperature above the melting point of the resin and coat the sand.

Abstract: In a process for dyeing a plush fabric having a long pile the dye is applied to the back of the fabric. The process is suitable for the production of imitation fur, in particular imitations of lynx and chinchilla furs.

Abstract: An apparatus for producing interference and beat-currents in a selectable point of the body, particularly for electrotherapy on the human body, which comprises at least two pairs of electrodes adapted to be applied to the human body. Each of the pairs of electrodes has associated therewith an output amplifier. The latter supplies independently selectively pulse and alternating current for each pair of the electrodes. A voltage proportional in amplitude to the current flowing through the patient is taken. The voltage relates mathematically each individual setting voltage with a common setting and is subtracted. The difference voltage is produced separately for each circuit and used for the amplification control on the corresponding of the amplifiers, and the voltage is so polarized that an increase in patient current resulting in a decrease of the amplification and an increase in the joint voltage resulting in an increase of the amplification.

Abstract: A reversible pulse-motor driving circuit comprising a steady driving circuit composed of an oscillator circuit, a frequency divider circuit, a waveform conversion circuit, and a driving circuit, and a fast correction driving-circuit composed of a fast correction set-circuit, a first gate circuit, a detector circuit, a normal and reverse discrimination circuit, a conversion change-over circuit, a pulse selector circuit, a first memory circuit, a second gate circuit and a second memory circuit, whereby a user can hear a time signal delivered from a calculation circuit and only push a pushbutton to rotate the pulse motor in a reverse direction when the second hand is ahead of the correct time, and rotate the pulse motor in a forward direction when the second hand is lagging with respect to the correct time, and the use of a frequency higher than the steady driving frequency permits a fast setting of the second, minute or hour hand to the correct time.

Abstract: A device for separating liquids of lower density than water, in particular oil, from water, comprises a pump and a separator receiving the liquids from the pump. The separator comprises a settling chamber and a filter pack arranged behind the latter. A line between the pump and the settling chamber feeds the liquids exclusively to the latter. The line includes a vent valve. An overflow opening device is provided between the settling chamber and the filter pack. A shut-off member is provided for closing the overflow opening in response to the thickness of the layer of liquid of lower density collected in the settling chamber.

Abstract: A lock for the runners, particularly for runners of sliding glass doors on a display case which comprises a box-like housing including at the front sliding glass doors. A locking bolt is displaceable in axial direction and is adapted to enter into a bolt opening of another overlapping, opposing runner. A locking cylinder is operatively connected with the locking bolt, and a device is arranged for moving the locking bolt from its advanced bolt engagement position into its open position independently of the locking cylinder.The present invention relates to a lock for runners, particularly those of sliding glass doors or showcase windows, having a locking bolt on a first runner which can be displaced in axial direction and which engages in a bolt opening of another overlapping mating runner and with which a lock cylinder is coordinated.The one known lock for runners, a lock cylinder and a locking bolt are arranged parallel to one another in a common housing. The latter is fastened to one runner.

Abstract: A cartridge shell has a cup-shaped metallic case stub whose rim is internally recessed to form an annular shoulder against which an inner skirt of a polymeric sealing ring, forming an extension of that rim, comes to rest while being flush with the inner cup surface. The lowermost slide carries two feeler arms which are tiltable and relatively displaceable in a vertical plane on a swingable bar to determine the width and attitude of the pelvis.

A tube-forming head of an extruder is disposed on top of the form tool and at least one holding mandrel is movable in axial direction. The mandrel has at least one receiving element for a construction element and is disposed end-sided to the form tool in the head of the extruder.

Abstract: A method and device for facilitating the movement of a number of moving bodies such as trains travelling behind each other in a closed circuit with all the necessary automatic functions such as safety precautions against collision and control of traffic, is arranged by providing an ideal circulation of imaginary moving bodies corresponding to the actual bodies and progressing regularly according to a pre-established programme, each actual moving body being constrained to remain, within limits behind its corresponding imaginary moving body taking into account possible braking requirements, and, in front of the imaginary moving body controlling the next actual moving body.

Abstract: A cap and a bottom part of a drive cage of a projectile are held together by a circularly-shaped metal jacket up to the disintegration of the cap by a centrifugal force or ramming pressure in flight. The jacket is made of longitudinal segments and surrounds the projectile along part of its length.

Abstract: A breech mechanism for a cannon has a slidable breech block on which is carried a slider that in turn carries a primer-cartridge magazine alignable with a chamber on the block. The slider is automatically driven in the opposite direction as the block when the latter is slid aside to remove fired ammunition and automatically ejects the spent primer cartridge in the breech block during this operation and loads a fresh one from the magazine. A hand crank allows the slider alone to be displaced back and forth between its end positions independent of the motion of the breech block when a primer cartridge misfires.
