  • Patent number: 4077301
Abstract: In the manufacture of modular chairs, couches and lounges, an apparatus shapes a block of an expanded plastic foam into a predetermined surface configuration by cutting by means of a hot wire tautly mounted on a frame for two dimensional manually guided movement defined by the periphery of a template. A rotating spiral saw replaces the hot wire as an alternate cutting device.

  • Patent number: 4024859
Abstract: A surgical mouth gag, which has a transverse bar mounting an adjustable tongue retractor centrally thereof, has a clamp means at each opposite end thereof for adjustably supporting a pair of alveolar retractors which coact with the tongue retractors to retain the jaws in a desired open position. A post support portion of each of the alveolar retractors adjust both for axial rotation and longitudinal sliding in its respective clamp. A modified post construction provides telescoping means for finger pressure adjustability.

  • Patent number: 4004112
Abstract: An accessory having a platform for supporting a note pad in horizontal writing position adapted to mount along the rear of a desk telephone has a pair of openings in the platform positioned to be engaged by the projecting tops of the rear pair of cradle posts and a third opening therebetween for holding a writing instrument in upright position. A wire brace is hinged to fold against the bottom side of the platform for packing and shipping and has a stop means whereby the brace assumes as acute angle with respect to the platform when the latter is in a horizontal position to facilitate mounting on the telephone. A modified platform has upstanding tabs for supporting a calender and a removable wire guide for mounting a small directory in closed position or in open position for viewing contents thereof while dialing.

  • Patent number: 3990199
Abstract: Backing plates, each having a relatively large centrally disposed through opening, are positioned in mortar in a predetermined vertical plane to provide flat coplanar surfaces for receiving support brackets for crypt fronts thereagainst. Each bracket has spaced horizontal slots through which expansion bolts extend and pass through said backing plate opening which properly positions the bolts to avoid cracking the concrete of the crypt partition. The horizontal slots provide adjustability for accommodating differences in dimensions between the compartmented crypt structure and the fronts. Means is also provided in the bracket to accommodate differences in thickness between adjacent fronts to insure vertical alignment of the forward facing surfaces thereof.

  • Patent number: 3955596
Abstract: A sewer pipe valve section comprising a removable one-way check valve and a separate removable screen is provided to be interposed between the building sewer drain system and that of the city. A linkage retains the screen in a normally raised inoperative position when the one-way check valve is in a lowered operative position and permits the screen to be lowered into operative position when the check valve is raised and removed for cleaning the pipe.
