Abstract: A grid beam of inverted T cross section for a suspended ceiling is made from a first strip of metal. A second strip is secured in the bottom of the flange of the beam by flats from the first strip, so that a three-dimensional effect from essentially flat elements results. The second strip can be of a different color as well as a different material or texture than the first strip, so that additionally a color contrast, as well as a material or surface contrast, can be achieved.
Abstract: An up leveling control system for small elevators that uses an adjuster having a small orifice coordinating with an up speed metering edge of a separate spool in the form of a taper to meter the rate of flow of pilot oil from a bypass chamber to control the position of a bypass valve and thereby regulate the volume of oil flow proportionately to the elevator cylinder and to the pump reservoir.
Abstract: An improved device for holding and manipulating dental floss for the removal of food particles, tartar and plaque from the teeth is described in which a loop of dental floss is connected between a pair of separate handles; the loop of dental floss being long enough to permit lateral motion across the tooth surface. The devices are either disposable or sterilizable for reuse.
Abstract: The present invention is for a method of forming means to remove a seal that has been affixed to a collapsible tube in accordance with the method shown in U.S. Pat. No. 4,938,818. A laminate removal tab is cut integral with the seal when the seal is cut, and then bent out of the way along the tube neck when the seal is welded to the tube mouth. The seal is easily lifted and grasped by the fingers to pull the seal off the mouth.
Abstract: Bacteria in tablet form is introduced into a home sewage treatment system. The system uses ground temperature to promote bacteria activity to aid in sewage denitrification. The tablets are periodically dispensed with a power-driven dispenser that periodically drops a tablet below ground into the system.
Abstract: Dentrifying backing in a tablet form is periodically introduced into a home or commercial sewage treatment system, and specifically into an underground denitrification chamber. The system uses ground temperature to promote dentrifying bacteria activity to aid in sewage denitrification. The tablets are periodically dispensed with a power-driven dispenser that periodically drops a tablet below ground into the underground denitrification chamber.
Abstract: A machine and process for quickly baking pizza. Dry super-heated steam at about 600.degree. F. is flash-generated in one compartment of the machine by spraying water on metal plates. The steam passes to another compartment of the machine where the pizza rests on a hot metal plate. The pizza is quickly baked from the combined effects of the steam and the hot plate at a temperature in the range from about 650.degree. F. to 690.degree. F.
Abstract: A system for the treatment of nitrate-containing wastewater from home or commercial, not municipal, sources is described in which the wastewater is contacted underground by denitrifying bacteria introduced to the treatment zone periodically; the treatment zone being maintained at or above the temperature at which the bacteria are active on a year-round basis by the ground temperature.
Abstract: A bite block to protect against a patient's biting into an instrument inserted through the mouth in a medical procedure. As a patient bites on the block against a sloping channel, the block is more firmly seated in the mouth, and the tongue is more firmly held depressed.
Abstract: A relatively uniform distribution of discrete, separate particles of edible powder such as starch or flour that adhere to the surface layer of the tortilla is used to prevent sticking of tortillas, one to another, when stacked in a package. A resilient foam sponge roller is used to first reservoir, and then compressively apply the particles to the surface of the tortilla.

Abstract: An improved toilet seat cover is described, comprising an envelope open at one or both ends to permit it to be slipped over a toilet seat to enclose it for sanitary purposes; the cover having a removable central portion which, when removed, forms an opening in the cover coincident with the opening in the toilet seat. The removable central portion when removed includes one or a pair of mitts, for example, to receive and enclose the hand or hands of the user to protect the user from touching any unsanitized surface with a bare hand while opening and closing the toilet enclosure, installing and disposing of the toilet seat cover or flushing the toilet.

Abstract: A perimeter clip to tie the end of a beam in a dropped grid ceiling to an angle wall molding. The clip is in right angle form with one leg hooked to the molding and the other leg formed to receive and secure the end of a beam. The clip is desirably formed from a flat, stamped piece of metal.
Abstract: A field barbecue apparatus for preparing large quantities of food. The apparatus includes a rectangular enclosure that maintains a hot air cooking and warming environment around the food. The enclosure in cross section has a height approximately equal to its width.
Abstract: A cutter assembly for forming a raised wooden panel having secured together a saw blade and a winged cutter body. The blade has a substantially greater number of teeth than the number of cutter wings, whereby a greater number of chip loads can be removed at the raised portion of the panel per revolution of the assembly than at the portion formed by the wings. The assembly forms a smooth cut.
Abstract: A beam for a fire-rated suspended ceiling structure wherein the beam has an inverted-T construction and includes a central web having a bulb at the top and a pair of oppositely disposed flanges at the bottom for supporting ceiling tiles, and an improved expansion relief section of the beam comprising a section of the web having a pair of spaced vertical cuts in the web and an horizontal cut extending between the upper ends of the vertical cuts to form a tab extending upwardly from the pair of flanges, the tab having an inverted triangular cut-out portion the apex thereof adjacent the pair of flanges and dividing the tab into two portions, a pair of protuberances formed in the upper edge of the tab portion contacting the upper portion of the web, and a section of the bulb having a crushed portion opposite the apex of the triangular cut-out portion, the crushed portion of the bulb having a substantially Z-shaped configuration whereby when the beam is subjected to expansion forces accompanying fire conditions th
