Abstract: A chain conveyor which includes a main chain and an auxiliary chain having the same pitch and total length, a plurality of carriages each having a shaft extending through midway points of links on the main chain and rotatable relative thereto, arms coupling a pivot of each main chain with a pivot on the auxiliary chain and arms coupling each carriage shaft to a midway point of a link on the auxiliary chain. With such an arrangement the carriages will all maintain a predetermined angular relationship notwithstanding the movement of the chain through various paths in a vertical plane.
Abstract: A brassiere cup of a resilient fibrous material intermixed with a resin formed by cooperating male and female die parts with the male die having a pad formed over the apex. The die parts are heated to a temprature above the softening temperature of the resin while said pad is maintained at a temperature below the softening temperature of the resin whereby the cup upon removal from the mold will have a thin peripheral portion and the material at the apex will expand to provide an apex of greater thickness.
Abstract: The combination of an intrauterine device and a package therefor, said package having an elongated strip of material, means on the strip for supporting the device and an identification record detachably secured to said strip.
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling the angular direction of wave transmission of an ultrasonic transmitting system having a plurality of uniformly spaced transducers which includes means for successively shifting the phase of the signals emitted by each transducer and providing means for controlling the magnitude of the phase shift to alter the angle of transmission.

Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing a packaging material and for packaging articles which includes a support for a roll of packaging material and a concave table for receiving articles to be packaged. The material is drawn over the table and by reason of the concavity, the articles are automatically centered on the material so that the material can be folded over the articles and sealed along the edges.
Abstract: A tube of weldable sheeting for the production of carrier bags comprises first and second tube wall portions extending longitudinally of the tube in circumferentially spaced relationship. Alternating ribs and bands, extending longitudinally of the tube form together each of the first and second tube wall portions, each of the ribs being of lesser width and greater thickness than each of the bands. Third and fourth tube wall portions extending longitudinally of the tube are integrally connected to the first and second tube wall portions so as to form a tubular formation together with the first and second tube wall portions, the third and fourth tube wall portions having a thickness corresponding approximately to 1/4 of the sum total of the thicknesses of one of the ribs and one of the bands.
Abstract: A binomial microscope having two parallel optical systems each including an objective lens, an erect prism and an ocular lens and wherein means are provided for moving each objective in a direction parallel to its optical axis to position the observed image in the vicinity of the object being observed.
Abstract: A binomial microscope which includes an auxiliary objective and a pair of parallel optical axes each having objective and ocular lenses and means for moving the objective lenses perpendicular to their optical axes to form the observed image substantially coincident with the object being observed.
Abstract: A binomial microscope having a pair of optical systems with parallel axes, each system including an objective lens, an erect prism and an ocular lens so that the observed image is in the vicinity of the object to be observed.
Abstract: A system for handling goods in selfservice shops, comprising a shopping trolley and a cash counter. The trolley comprises at least one basket consisting of a bottom and four side walls, one of which is pivotally connected to two opposite side walls of the basket and adapted to pivot from a lowered closed position to a raised open position. The cash counter includes a compartment corresponding to the size of the trolley and designed to receive the trolley, and control members co-operating with the trolley to move the pivoting side wall from lowered to raised position as the trolley is introduced into said compartment.
Abstract: Vibration sensing and responding apparatus which includes a concave spherical surface and a ball disposed on said surface. Spring loaded means extends through said surface and is retained in position by said ball. Should the ball be displaced by horizontal vibration of the surface or be displaced by a mechanism responding to vertical vibration, the spring loaded means will move upwardly and in so doing actuate a device coupled thereto.
Abstract: Pinless feeding apparatus for signatures wherein signatures from a printed web are automatically severed and fed to gripping cylinders having gripping fingers on the surface thereof. Positive engagement of each signature with a set of gripping fingers on the gripping cylinder is effected by modifying the rate of transport of each signature as it is severed and by controlling the transporting means so that each signature at any one time is primarily subjected to only one rate of transport.
Abstract: An eyeglass structure which includes a rear frame having circular portions joined by a nose piece and temple supports and two individual front portions rotatably carried by said circular positions with at least one pair of said portions carrying light modifying elements therein.
