  • Patent number: 5732605
Abstract: A wrench extension tool having a gear train of intermeshing idler gears contained within an inner housing formed of two (2) curved and substantially parallel plates. Aligned pairs of bores are provided through the parallel plates providing residence for axle pins about which the idler gears rotate. At each end of the wrench extension tool is a socket opening in which there resides an end gear. Each end gear includes a journal portion extending therefrom with the socket opening serving as bearings for such journals. Each end gear includes a hexagonal socket receptacle into which interchangeable driven and drive sockets can be inserted by a user. A locking mechanism is provided to retain the chosen drive and driven sockets in the socket receptacles. In such manner, a relatively narrow wrench extension tool is provided where either end of the wrench extension tool can serve as the driven end and either end can serve as the drive end.

  • Patent number: 5714023
Abstract: A method for sealing the open end of two compartment containers which are filled through an opening in the lower terminal end of each compartment. The method consists of placing a steel platen between the compartments at the lower end terminal edges of each compartment so that the terminal edges confront the opposing side faces of the platen. The lower terminal edges are then heated and a pair of dies are activated towards and away from one another to apply pressure to the lower terminal edges to seal the edges against the platen.

  • Patent number: 5692509
Abstract: A process for therapeutic treatment of changes in human or animal bones which cause a boundary surface gap with a width of less than 5 millimeters to form between the bone and an acoustically reflective body such as an implant, a tooth or a bone fragment. The process include a first step of locating the desired boundary surface gap by means of a locating device; next the body of the patient is exposed to acoustical shock waves through the surface of the skin after focusing the shock waves on the boundary surface gap. Vibrations are generated in the bone surfaces, the surfaces of the acoustically reflecting body, and at the gap by multiple reflections of the generated shock waves. The preferred device for carrying out the process uses a therapy head to generate and focus acoustic shock waves in a predetermined direction. The shock waves are conducted through the surface of the skin into the body of the patient by a coupling unit.

  • Patent number: 5687833
Abstract: A support and conveying roller and system utilizing the same for supporting and conveying a workpiece such that the workpiece is maintained in a substantially horizontal plane even though the workpiece includes members projecting therefrom toward the support roller. The support and conveying roller includes an axle with a mandrel mounted thereon such that the mandrel is capable of rotational movement about the axle and lateral movement along the axle. There is a brush helicaly wound about the mandrel and attached only at the ends thereof such that individual coils of the brush are capable of movement relative to adjacent coils of that same brush. The brush has a fiber density sufficient to generally support the workpiece in the substantially horizontal working plane while simultaneously allowing the portions of the workpiece extending angularly from the bottom surface of the workpiece to infiltrate between the fibers.

  • Patent number: 5685846
Abstract: A syringe device for use with two components to be combined prior to discharge, comprising a syringe body without the proximal end, a syringe plunger rod threadedly engageable into a plunger and a lined seal for engagement with a needle hub. The syringe body has at the distal end a radially inwardly directed internal sealing ring dividing the body to define a distal chamber and a proximal chamber. Also provided is an internal bypass stopper sized to fit the syringe body and engage the sealing ring to sealingly separate the distal chamber and the proximal chamber. The stopper has a plurality of projections circumferentially spaced thereon for engagement with the syringe body on at least one side of the sealing ring. The projections define by-pass channels therebetween to permit flow of liquid from the proximal chamber to the distal chamber upon movement of the stopper toward the distal end.
