Abstract: An improved wrapping material for palletized loads which are tension wrapped is disclosed. A plastic net material comprising the plurality of sets of strands, the strands of at least one said set being substantially parallel, is oriented along said one said set to have a stretch factor of less than 15% in the oriented direction. This net is used for wrapping about pelletized loads and gives substantially improved results over known plastic net materials used in tension wrapping of palletized loads.
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for automatically splicing a stand-by belt to the end of the belt or coil which is running out. In the prior art devices, there is a free transverse strip of the run-out coil which remains after the splicing has occurred. In accordance with the invention, the stand-by belt is spliced and the transverse strip is cut off so as to provide a continuous belt with no free end.
Abstract: Locking device for securing a firearm to a wall, having a first part securable to the wall and a second part insertable through the trigger guard of the firearm to be engaged with the first part, the second part being so shaped as to then retain the firearm on the wall. The second part has a shank portion which enters into an opening in the first part and a lock is provided operable to hold the shank when so entered. The first part is securable to the wall by screws passing through screw holes in the first part, which screw holes are selectively exposable by rotating a cover plate on the first part to align an opening in the cover plate with the screw holes. When the second part is locked to the first part the shank passes through the cover opening into the second part to lock the cover against rotation so that it cannot be rotated to a position giving access to the screw holes.
Abstract: Heated molten material is circulated in a closed cycle between a heater and a storage tank. The heater is controlled to maintain the temperature of the circulating fluid at a predetermined level. A replenishment supply of solid material to be melted is mixed with the heated fluid during retention in a melting container during the circulation from heater to storage tank.
Abstract: There are disclosed peptides of the formula A-B-C and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, in which A is selected from the group consisting of L-pyroglutamyl, D-pyroglutamyl, and L-homo-pyroglutamyl; B is selected from the group consisting of L-histidyl, L-3'-methylhistidyl, D-histidyl, L-phenylalanyl, L-p-aminophenylalanyl, and L-.beta.-(pyrazolyl-1)alanyl; and C is selected from the group consisting of glycine and lower alkyl esters thereof, glycinamide and lower alkyl amides thereof, 2-amino-1-hydroxyethyl, D-alanine, L-.beta.-(2-thienyl)-alanine, and NHR.sup.1 in which R.sup.1 is lower alkyl, with the proviso that C may not be glycine or glycinamide when A is L-pyroglutamyl and B is L-histidyl.The compounds have anorexigenic properties, inhibit excessive gastric and pancreatic secretion, and cause activation in the CNS. Methods for their preparation and use are also disclosed.
Abstract: An improved cover for golf balls is disclosed. The cover imparts to the ball both a high initial velocity and exceptional durability. The cover is composed of at least three ionomeric resins. The invention is particularly useful with so-called two-piece golf balls, especially those which are compression molded.

Abstract: A number of photoreceptors are arranged in a matrix along X-lines and Y-lines. An X-direction multiplexer and a Y-direction multiplexer are connected with the X-lines and Y-lines, respectively. Log-conversion amplifiers are connected at the input of the Y-direction multiplexer to log-compress the output of the photoreceptor before it is inputted into the Y-direction multiplexer. All the circuitry including the photoreceptors, multiplexers and amplifiers are deposited on a single chip to make an IC element.
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for providing a constant tension of the paper belt being fed from a paper coil. According to the invention, a floating roller is mounted between two displaceable trolleys, the ends of the roller shaft being slidably mounted in respective grooves of said trolleys. The trolleys are linked to chains which are provided with a common shaft which drives a piston rod of a cylinder. Two cylinders whose joint power is slightly smaller than that of the cylinder of the common shaft of the trolley chains are mounted to balance the pulling effect of the paper belt on the roller. Means for adjusting the brake pressure adjuster of the paper coils is provided on one of the trolleys. In accordance with the invention, an equilibrium of the oscillation of the floating roller is obtained so as to permit slight oscillations without affecting the pressure adjustment of the coil brakes.
Abstract: The invention refers to a vibration or shaking machine, especially for Indian ink writing devices, said machine having a housing with a guide in which is guided a sliding holder for holding at least one of the objects to be shaken, as well as a driving motor for the holder in the housing.
