  • Patent number: 8242893
Abstract: A filter assembly that includes a filter housing having a radio frequency identification reader and a blocker; and a filter cartridge insertable into the filter housing having a radio frequency identification tag that the radio frequency reader on the housing can read to determine if the filter cartridge is of the proper type. When the proper filter cartridge is inserted in the filter housing and the tag is matched by the radio frequency identification reader, the blocker will allow the cartridge to go in. When the radio frequency identification reader does not match the tag on the filter cartridge, the blocker will prevent the filter cartridge from being fully inserted into the housing.

  • Patent number: 8243096
Abstract: Based on a driver programmable stencil reference value command, stencil reference value logic produces a plurality of stencil reference values for a corresponding plurality of pixels or pixel samples. At least one of the plurality of stencil reference values has a different value than at least one other of the plurality of stencil reference values. The driver programmable stencil reference value command may include a reference to instruction data or instruction data itself such that the graphics processing logic produces the plurality of stencil reference values based on the instruction data. Stencil logic performs a stencil test on the produced plurality of stencil reference values with respect to or without reference to a previously produced plurality of stencil values. Stencil logic performs stencil operations based on the result of the stencil test.

  • Patent number: 8238067
Abstract: A method and integrated circuit renders a shunt structure non-conductive during a power up event or noise event for and in addition, during an electrostatic discharge event, keeps the shunt structure conductive for a period of time to discharge electrostatic energy through the shunt structure. In one example, a shunt structure, such as a transistor, is interposed between a power node and a ground node. Circuitry is operative during a power up event or noise event, to render the shunt structure non-conductive for a period of time during the power up event or during the noise event (when power is applied). Second circuit is operative, during an electrostatic discharge event, to keep the shunt structure conductive for a period of time to discharge electrostatic energy through the shunt structure. In one example, a plurality of resistor/capacitors (RC) circuits are utilized wherein the RC circuits have different time constants.

Abstract: This document discusses, among other things, a lead body extending longitudinally along a lead axis, a driver axially displaceable relative to the lead body, and a driven member coupled to the lead body and displaceable away from the lead axis. The driven member at least partially defines an expandable passage having at least one internal dimension. The driver is displaceable into the expandable passage and has at least one outer dimension that is larger than the at least one internal dimension of the expandable passage. An example method includes disposing a first member having a first cross-section in a lead assembly having a lead axis, an expandable passage, and a displaceable member proximate the expandable passage. The method further includes urging the first member into the expandable passage in the lead assembly, and urging the displaceable member away from the lead axis to expand the expandable passage.

  • Patent number: 8225476
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a catalytic converter is described where the catalytic converter is comprised of an outer tube member having a monolith substrate internally compressed therein with a wrapped mat material surrounding the monolith substrate and intermediate the outer tube. One or more monolith members can be applied within the outer tube and heat shields may also be applied internal to the outer tube and adjacent to the monolith substrate. The assembly of the catalytic converter includes measuring the sequence of compression of the mat material to the monolith substrate in order to understand the possible force characteristics that can be applied during the assembly thereof. The mat material is therefore compressed within the outer tube by way of compression jaws, by compression rollers, by spinning and/or by a shrinker including compression members. The compression of the mat material can be in single or multiple steps.
