  • Patent number: 8173037
Abstract: A wafer polish monitoring method and device for detecting the end point of the polishing of a conductive film with high precision and accuracy by monitoring the variation of the film thickness of the conductive film without adverse influence of slurry or the like after the film thickness of the conductive film decreases to an extremely small film thickness defined by the skin depth. A high-frequency transmission path is formed in a portion facing the conductive film on the surface of the wafer, the polishing removal state of the conductive film is evaluated based at least on the transmitted electromagnetic waves passing through the high-frequency transmission path or the reflected electromagnetic waves that are reflected without passing through the high-frequency transmission path, and the end point of the polishing removal and the point equivalent to the end point of the polishing removal are detected.

  • Patent number: 7830141
Abstract: Coil is made to be disposed with gap opposed to the surface of wafer, and wafer stage is made to move in X and Y direction and R and ? direction. When supplying an alternating current to coil with the frequency swept by impedance analyzer, the magnetic field made to be induced in coil will operate on the conductive film of wafer. By changing a parameter (a frequency or an angle) influencing the skin effect of the conductive film and giving the parameter to coil, the state where a magnetic field is not made to penetrate relatively the film of wafer and the state where the magnetic field is made to penetrate relatively the film can be formed. From the variation of various values corresponding to the eddy current induced based on the change of state influenced by the skin effect of the conductive film, the film thickness of wafer can be measured with sufficient accuracy.

  • Patent number: 7768642
Abstract: An imaging catadioptric spectrometer using a Mangin type lens and pupil lens adjacent to a grating. Electromagnetic radiation received by aperture slits is directed to a reflective portion of a Mangin type lens and redirected to a pupil adjacent a diffraction grating. Diffracted light is transmitted through a refractive portion of the Mangin type lens and through a corrector lens to image the spectral components of electromagnetic radiation onto a detector. The detector may be an enhanced detector utilizing an array of smaller spaced detectors. By balancing the powers of the lens elements, a single optical material may be used. In one embodiment, multiple aperture slits are spaced apart and decentered with respect to the optical axis permitting collection of opposing diffraction orders on two detectors. A wide field of view having a low F number is obtained with an operating wavelength range in the infrared from approximately 7.5 to 13.5 microns.

  • Patent number: 7341452
Abstract: A dental nozzle, cartridge, capsule or container having a porous or foam flow through applicator connected at the discharge end thereof; and having a body portion containing or receiving a low viscosity dental material. In one form, a displaceable plunger or piston is disposed within the body portion to extrude the dental material through the discharge orifice and attached flow through applicator. The foam or porous applicator may be connected to the discharge end at the time of manufacture as by molding, or by mechanically connecting or by adhering the same to the discharge orifice as part of the assembly process. The flow through applicator may be made in a variety of shapes to provide improved and controlled application of a low viscosity dental material to a dental site. Additionally, the porosity of the porous or foam material may be matched to the viscosity of the dental material to control the flow of dental material therethrough.

  • Patent number: 7297401
Abstract: The present invention provides an electroconductive adhesive having a heme protein mixed in a very small amount thereby exhibiting electrical conductivity without deteriorating adhesion, which is used on the surface of electronic parts or a label thereby preventing and eliminating static electricity and improving the efficiency of heat dissipation, as well as an adhesive article using the same. A heme protein having a porphyrin complex whose iron ion is divalent is added to an adhesive to confer electrical conductivity. At least one member selected from an electroconductive polymer, an electrolytic metal, and a pigment molecule is mixed with the resultant electroconductive adhesive.

  • Patent number: 7252254
Abstract: A pill or tablet crusher and splitter using a combination lever and screw action. A lever attached to a ring having an internal screw thread advances a transversely movable platen towards a transversely fixed or placed anvil crushing a pill or tablet placed between the platen and anvil. The anvil may be removable for easy cleaning. A pill or tablet splitter may be placed in a sunken area beneath an intermediate portion of the lever. The pill or tablet splitter has a tray with a plurality of slopped bottom V-shaped pill or tablet holding clamps. A blade attached to a cover-cutter is placed over the tray. The cover-cutter is forced downward by the movement of the lever splitting or cutting the pills or tablets.

  • Patent number: 7241143
Abstract: A method and a device for effecting the cordless retraction of the gingival sulcus tissue that includes a dam shaped to be fitted onto a tooth. The dam having a peripheral wall defining a well. The peripheral wall may be either pervious or impervious to light rays and opened at least one end. The well of the dam is pre-filled with a predetermined amount of a flowable retraction material having a heavy viscosity or putty consistency. The preloaded tooth dam is fitted to a prepared tooth so that when pressure is applied onto the tooth dam, the retraction material is displaced under pressure and forced into the sulcus, causing the gingival tissue to retract away from the tooth to enlarge the gingival sulcus. In one form of the invention, the structure of the dam enables the retraction material to mechanically bond or adhere to the internal surfaces of the dam, permitting the retraction material to be removed simultaneously with the removal of the tooth dam to leave behind a clean enlarged sulcus.

  • Patent number: 7241451
Abstract: A cream or ointment for topical application to reduce the appearance of scars. A silicone compound is combined with a sunscreen or sun block for topical application that helps fade or diminish scar tissue making the scar less noticeable. The silicone compound acts as a protective barrier and prevents epidermal water loss that aids in the healing and reduction of scar tissue. The sunscreen or sun block prevents the new tissue from being damaged and protects the scar tissue from the effects of ultraviolet radiation, resulting in more uniform skin color reducing the appearance of the scar tissue. Vitamins E and K1, as well as onion extract, are also included for improving the appearance of scars. The cream or ointment of the present invention may be massaged into the area of the scar twice daily for two to three minutes at a time. The cream or ointment is easy to apply and is a cost effective method to reduce the appearance of scars.
