  • Patent number: 8343404
Abstract: A system and a method for the production of cellular materials are described. In particular, a system and a method for the production of cellular materials with several geometries such as honeycomb geometry, chiral geometry and auxetic geometry are described. The innovative concept of the present invention concerns the pre-formation of the cellular structure by penetration of a reinforcement fabric by means of punches properly structured. The employment of punches housed on one of the matrices of the device allows obtaining several geometries without need of complex fabric pre-formation operations or of manual placement of the fabric in the interstices of the mold.

  • Patent number: 8257150
Abstract: Elastic member bundled by pencil band is mounted to the lower edge of support part. Elastic member is composed with tungsten wires which are 25 mm in the length and 0.15 mm in diameter bundled with every 30 wires in one bundle. The tip part of each element wire of elastic member contacts polishing pad with the tip end cut round and performs dressing of polishing pad. The wire size of the tip part of each element wire of elastic member is made to be fine and the cutting width on polishing pad is made to be narrow, and at the same time, the rigidity of elastic member is made to be enhanced by bundling each element wire of elastic member with pencil band, and a large pressure is made to be pressed to the fine tip part of each element wire. Therefore, the tip part of elastic member can give an effective incision depth to polishing pad.

  • Patent number: 8210017
Abstract: A steel pipe drawing apparatus, which can manufacture a drawn steel pipe which is a long object with high accuracy and at high speed as well as improves dimensional accuracy of respective thick-wall portions and cutting positions of the drawn steel pipe, is realized. When a stepped drawn steel pipe is manufactured by moving a die and a plug relatively in the same direction as a steel pipe drawing direction and in an opposite direction thereto, a first hydraulic cylinder moves the die relatively in a direction corresponding to the steel pipe drawing direction, and a second hydraulic cylinder moves the plug relatively in a direction opposite to a moving direction of the die. At this time, a position detecting sensor detects a stroke position of the second hydraulic cylinder, and a computer receives positional information detected by the position detecting sensor and controls a moving velocity of the second hydraulic cylinder.

  • Patent number: 8118595
Abstract: A rolled compression cap having a central bore. The rolled compression cap has adjacent layers that slide or telescope to conform to the prepared tooth and to apply more direct mechanical pressure to the interface between the prepared tooth and the gingiva. The gingiva or gum retracts from the tooth forming or widening a gingival sulcus. This improves the preparation of the tooth for taking an impression and fitting a crown or cap. In one embodiment, a rolled compression cap is pre-dosed or soaked with an astringent material or retraction agent. In another embodiment, the central bore of the rolled compression cap is filled with a paste-like or gel material containing an astringent or hemostatic agent.

  • Patent number: 8115108
Abstract: The insulation base side of single-sided FPC is turned to the die side, and the mounting surface side of ground circuit is turned to the upper side, and the FPC is placed on die (a). When the portion of ground circuit where the conduction is realized and metal reinforcing plate are punched by punch of which the clearance dimension is made to be 50 to 95% of the thickness of the material to be punched, hole sagging will be formed (b). The insulation base 1 side is turned up, electrically conductive adhesive and metal reinforcing plate are laminated in this order, heating pressing is performed with the press apparatus for metal reinforcing plate to be laminated (c). Thereby, laminated FPC is formed (d). At this time, since electrically conductive adhesive is injected into hole sagging by press pressing, the electrical connection of metal reinforcing plate and ground circuit can be attained by the interlaminar conduction by means of electrically conductive adhesive, and there is also no residual air.

  • Patent number: 8087862
Abstract: A clip having a U-shaped body and a cantilevered replacement tab with a threaded hole. The clip replaces damaged threaded tabs on a metal electrical box. The U-shaped body of the clip is slid over the wall of an electrical box after the damaged threaded tab is removed. A cantilevered replacement tab extends from the U-shaped body of the clip having a replacement threaded hole therein for receiving a machine screw. The machine screw holds an electrical outlet within the electrical box. The cantilevered replacement tab creates a moment arm causing an attached tooth to bite into a surface of the electrical box. The clip is thereby securely held within the electrical box and is prevented from sliding off of the box as the electrical outlet is drawn into the box by the machine screw. The present invention provides an improved clip for the replacement of a tab in a damaged electrical box and eliminates the need for replacing the electrical box.

  • Patent number: 8051534
Abstract: A pneumatic door closer for effecting the closing of an associated door having a controlled rate of a closing motion that is generally uniform, smooth and safe in moving from an opened to closed position of an associated door. The door closer includes an elongated cylinder with a displaceable piston defining a vacuum chamber and a pressure chamber within the elongated cylinder wherein the piston is normally biased toward a door closing position by a suitable spring. A piston rod connected to the piston has its free end extending through a rod opening that includes an air impervious seal formed about the piston rod extending therethrough. Disposed in communication with the vacuum chamber is a breather arrangement for diminishing in a controlled manner the level of vacuum being created within the vacuum chamber during the closing stroke of the piston to control the resulting resistance forces acting on the piston such that the closing speed is essentially uniform throughout the closing stroke.

  • Patent number: 8007284
Abstract: A moisture proof, telescoping coupler assembly for electric metal tubes and threaded rigid pipe with an enhanced grounding arrangement both internally and externally for electrically grounding and bonding the telescoping tube to the coupler body and improved continuity. A high conductivity metal plating on an internal cantered spring improves continuity and lowers voltage drop. Moisture proof sealing is improved by centering the electric metal tube within the coupler body adjacent the seal preventing possible leaking after securing the electric metal tube to one end. A modified arrangement utilizes a snap fitting retaining ring for securing an electric metal tube to the coupler body to provide for unidirectional insertion of an electric metal tube into the open end of a coupler body in a manner that prohibits unintentional separation of the tube and/or retainer ring from the coupler body.
