  • Patent number: 7979271
Abstract: Methods and devices are used for switching between sound signal coding modes and for producing from a decoded target signal, an overlap-add target signal in a current frame coded according to a first mode. On a coder side, switching is at the junction between a previous frame coded according to a first coding mode and a current frame coded according to a second coding mode, a sound signal is filtered through a weighting filter to produce a weighted signal in the current frame, and a windowed zero-input response of the weighting filter is removed from the weighted signal. On a decoder side, a current frame of the target signal is first windowed, a left portion of a resulting window is skipped, and then a windowed zero-input response of the weighting filter is added to the decoded target signal to reconstruct the overlap-add target signal.

  • Patent number: 7971063
Abstract: A method for safeguarding an electronic document includes inserting at least one digital signature image into the electronic document and generating a first check sum for the electronic document, with or without optionally-inserted biometric signature data, using a first hash function. A second check sum is then generated using a second hash function. The first check sum and the biometric data, if provided, are then symmetrically encrypted using a key that is the sum of the second check sum and a generated random value. The symmetrically-encrypted first check sum is attached to the document. The random value is then asymmetrically encrypted using a first public key of a first key pair and the asymmetrically-encrypted random value is added to the document.

  • Patent number: 7963283
Abstract: The method and system are for sealing/unsealing (regulating) airway leaks occurring between the ventilator circuit and respiratory airways during lung ventilatory support in response to myoelectrical activity of diaphragm. Myolectrical activity of a patient's respiratory-related muscle is sensed to detect respiratory effort, and to produce a myoelectrical signal representative of the sensed muscle myoelectrical activity. Respiratory flow and pressure can also be measured to produce respective respiratory pressure and respiratory flow signals. A logic trigger sealing/unsealing of airway leaks in relation to the myoelectrical signal, respiratory flow signal and/or respiratory pressure signal to assist respiration of the patient. The amplitude of the myoelectrical signal is compared to a given threshold, and airway leaks are sealed when the amplitude of the myoelectrical signal is higher than this threshold.

  • Patent number: 7931957
Abstract: Described are fiber materials having improved malodor scavenger properties and a process for the manufacture of said materials. In particular, described are fiber materials usable in the manufacture of disposable or washable diapers, incontinent products, sanitary napkins and other such hygiene and personal care articles with improved malodor scavenger properties, and to methods of manufacturing such materials. It has been found that the incorporation of, especially nanosized, metal particles and/or a cyclodextrin material into fibers creates a “reactive” material having excellent malodor scavenging properties. More specifically, it has been found that the presence of nanosized metal or metal alloy particles and/or a cyclodextrin material in a fiber material, preferably a synthetic polymer material and more preferably a synthetic thermoplastic polymer fiber material leads to fiber materials or nonwovens having odor-controlling properties.

  • Patent number: 7933769
Abstract: In a method and device for low-frequency emphasis, where the spectrum of a sound signal is transformed in a frequency domain and comprises transform coefficients grouped in a number of blocks, a maximum energy for one block having a position index is calculated. Also, a factor having a position index smaller than the position index of the block with maximum energy is calculated for each block. For each block, an energy of the block is calculated, the factor is computed from the calculated maximum energy and the computed energy of the block, and a gain is determined from the factor and applied to the transform coefficients of the block.
